IT House quoted the content of Microsoft’s official blog post and hereby lists the file manager functions deleted by this preview version as follows:

  • Hidden Folder Merge Conflict
  • Always show icon, never thumbnail
  • Show file icon on thumbnail
  • Show file type information on folder prompt
  • Hide protected operating system files
  • Show drive letters
  • Show pop-up descriptions for folders and desktop items
  • Show encrypted or compressed NTFS files in color
  • Using the Sharing Wizard

Although Microsoft has removed most of the file manager functions, there are still some functions that some users often use. Microsoft said that after these options are deleted, users can regain them by modifying the registry if needed.

Many users expressed dissatisfaction with Microsoft's removal of these file manager functions. Reddit user ValientKnight666 left a message:

Are you kidding me? These legacy features are very important! Why would Microsoft adjust its file manager to the needs of mainstream users rather than to the needs of advanced users? Am I not using Win11 to improve productivity? I seriously hope the developers revert these changes.
