iOS 15 was first previewed in June during WWDC21. The latest operating system for the iPhone, released in September, was missing some features when it was first released to the public. Today, six months and four major updates later in this iOS cycle, Apple is finally releasing all the features it previewed during WWDC 2021.

iOS 15 promises improvements and changes, including improved focus mode, a new Safari design, and more features for FaceTime. Apple was also able to bring the ability to track an iPhone even when it's turned off with the first version of iOS 15, but there are still a lot of other features missing.

The company seeded iOS 15.1 a month after its initial release. One of the most anticipated features, SharePlay, is finally available. With it, you can connect with a dozen friends or family and use FaceTime for watch parties, listen to music, or work out together.

In iOS 15.2, released five weeks after 15.1, Apple is bringing in two more features that were missing from the original iOS 15 release: App Privacy Report and Legacy Contacts.

The App Privacy Report allows users to see how often apps have accessed their location, photos, camera, microphone, and contacts over the past seven days. Legacy Contacts will allow you to designate people as legacy contacts so that they can access your accounts and personal information in the event of your death.

Even with two major updates, there are still some features missing, notably Universal Control for iPadOS and macOS users and Digital ID for US users. Surprisingly, iOS 15.3 only polishes the iOS experience and does not bring any new features.

Then, with the release of iOS 15.4 just last week, Apple brought the Universal Control feature, and today the company announced the first U.S. state to add digital IDs: Arizona. That said, all the features first previewed back in June during the WWDC21 keynote are finally available.

It's important to note that two features are still in beta: Universal Control and Private Relay, but they both work as reliably as possible and are available to all users.

iOS 15 also brings the ability to share FaceTime links, so Android and PC users can join video calls. Not only that, but it also brings the ability to store home and hotel keys as well as work badges in the Wallet app.
