You can go to http://code.google.com/p/redis/downloads/list to find the latest download
wget http://redis.googlecode.com/files/redis-2.6.14 .tar.gz
tar zxf redis-2.6.14.tar.gz && cd redis-2.6.14
make
make install
You can also create the redis management directory yourself without executing make install. , of course I like to put redis in the system default directory.
cp redis.conf /etc/
vi /etc/redis.conf
daemonize no
daemonize yes
Change no to yes, let redis run in the background
