Diablo 4: Season 7 - Rogue Leveling Guide
Diablo 4 gives you a fair amount of variety for building each class, and seasons like the Season of Witchcraft are the perfect time to test out builds. Rogues can be a bit tricky to master since you have less range and defensive abilities compared to other classes, but that's made up for by the amount of mobility you have. You also have some choice about whether you want to focus on close combat or if you want to keep your distance and go with ranged options.
Rogues tend to have a solid feeling to them since you can make multiple builds work well, and your kit usually gives you a lot of movement and support to keep you from getting stuck in a group of enemies and killed. When you're leveling, you usually want to prioritize AoE damage so that you can quickly wipe out groups of enemies and collect the experience. Therefore, the Barrage build in Diablo 4 is worth considering for leveling a rogue since it lets you deal with a lot of AoE damage.

Best Rogue Build For Season 7
Barrage Your Enemies
Naturally, you start with your basic ability. In this case, you take Puncture. Puncture lets you throw blades a short distance, but you slow enemies with every third attack. Additionally, you can throw these blades out pretty quickly, making it a perfect ability for kiting enemies with its slow, letting you avoid getting stuck in a bad location and being killed with the lack of durability that you have as a Rogue, especially at lower levels. From here, Fundamental Puncture is a perfect upgrade for a Barrage build, as it hits more enemies and makes them vulnerable.
Next, you have your core ability and build your kit. In this case, you pick up Barrage, which fires multiple arrows that have a chance to ricochet. Like Puncture, Barrage has great upgrades available. In the beginning, Advanced Barrage is useful, since it gives you a higher critical strike chance if your Barrage ricochets a certain number of times. However, you'll want to switch to Improved Barrage once you have Precision since this will make enemies Vulnerable every third cast like Puncture does. Barrage uses Energy, so upgrading Puncture helps restore it for more uses.
Mobility Skill options are up next, which means you'll start picking up abilities that give you a lot of extra movement. Since you'll take both Shadow Step and Dash from this section, it doesn't matter which one you pick up first. With Dash, you get to move and damage, and slow enemies who are hit by your Dash. Then, for Shadow Step, you gain Unstoppable, movement speed and move behind your target to strike them. While you get damage and mobility with these abilities, you can use them strategically to dodge attacks.
Finally, take Shadow Imbuement and Cold Imbuement as your last active abilities. Having two Imbuement skills means that you can keep alternating which one you use, letting the other one cooldown, and that increases your overall damage since you have a bonus from one or the other for a decent portion of combat. You want the Mixed option for both of these abilities for upgrades since it increases the damage from affected enemies. After picking up these abilities and unlocking the last section, take Precision as your passive.
For a Rogue, Hex of Shattering, Hex of Flames, Aura Specialization, and Aura of Siphoning are all great options for Witchcraft Powers.
In addition to these abilities, your skill tree has options for various passives. You can use these to boost areas in which you feel you need more power, such as taking Adrenaline Rush for more Energy regeneration or Second Wind for durability. Otherwise, you can pick up the more standard options, like Agile for increased dodge chances and Impetus for a damage boost. The Rogue is wonderfully versatile, so you can make a lot of small changes work with the overall build, and getting Witchcraft Powers helps out even more.
Best Gear & Aspects For Rogue In Season 7
Round Out Your Build
Aside from your skill choices, you also want to use certain Aspects to boost your build, and try to pick up gear that provides bonuses to the abilities you're using and the stats you need. The Aspect that you absolutely need is the Aspect of Branching Volleys, which increases the damage of arrows that ricochet from Barrage. You can get it by completing the Shadow Plunge Dungeon. Other Aspects worth considering include the High Velocity Aspect, the Edgemaster's Aspect, and the Aspect of the Expectant. Since some of these are random drops, you might not get them quickly.
For your gear, you want to look at the stats that an item gives you, especially bonus effects like cooldown reduction and increased damage for your skills. Additionally, dexterity, movement speed, max health, attack speed, armor, and resistance are never bad to have on your gear since you aren't as sturdy as a class like the Barbarian. However, you'll still be in the middle of enemies, often enough to take damage. Using gear for extra defense is an excellent option during your early levels, especially since you don't have as much utility and movement at that point.
Then, you have gems that you can put in your armor for another boost. With the Rogue, emeralds are going to be your best friends. At lower levels, you go through gear so quickly that it's usually not worth the time to go back to town and craft high-level gems to use. Instead, use what you have on-hand until you get closer to hitting max level. For armor and weapon sockets, you use emeralds, which increase your Dexterity and critical strike damage. For jewelry sockets, skulls are perfect for a boost to your armor.
Finally, elixirs can be an excellent resource for leveling because you get a bonus for your experience gains when you are active. Additionally, bundled herbs that are used to craft elixirs are easy to find, especially when you're completing Headhunts. Elixirs of Precision or Advantage are the best for damage on a Rogue, but if you need more survivability, you want to consider the Elixir of Fortitude. It doesn't hurt to carry multiple types with you; then, you're prepared to tackle anything that comes at your Rogue during Season of Witchcraft in Diablo 4.
