Is `background-position-x` a Standardized CSS Property?

Is Background-position-x a Supported W3C CSS Property?

Regarding the absence of support for background-position-x and background-position-y in Gecko and Presto browsers, concerns have arisen about their standardization.

As per official documentation, the splitting of background-position into -x and -y was initially proposed for CSS 3 but rejected due to insufficient use cases and potential ambiguities in CSSOM. Consequently, the CSS Working Group (WG) has confirmed that there will be no changes to these syntaxes in the foreseeable future.

However, a recent update reveals that these properties have been approved for CSS 4. The CSSWG Minutes Telecon 2014-04-16 states:

RESOLVED: background-position-x/-y, background-repeat-x/-y approved for level 4 of backgrounds and borders.

This suggests that background-position-x and background-position-y will become standardized properties in the upcoming CSS 4 specification.
