Anker USB-C Hub (8-in-1, Triple Display) with VGA port now available

The Anker USB-C Hub (8-in-1, Triple Display) has arrived in the US, offering a wide range of connectivity options. As its name suggests, the new accessory offers eight ports, including three USB-A with a data transfer rate of 5 Gbps, though these do not support charging.

The USB-C Hub’s single USB-C output offers the same data transfer rate, and it is worth noting that it does not support screen mirroring. However, three displays can be connected thanks to VGA 1080p@60Hz, HDMI 4K@60Hz and HDMI 4K@30Hz ports. When these three ports are used simultaneously, a 1080p@60Hz resolution is supported. The eighth and final port is the 100W USB-C PD-IN to power the device, providing 85W pass-through charging to the host device. The accessory does not have a 100W PD wall charger or USB-C to USB-C cable; you must supply your own. One notable absence here is an Ethernet port.

The hub is compatible with various devices running Windows 10 or later, macOS 12 or later and ChromeOS. As you might expect, macOS devices only support Mirror mode, meaning identical content is displayed across the external screens. Safety features protect against issues like short circuits and overheating, and an 18-month warranty covers the accessory. You can buy the Anker USB-C Hub (8-in-1, Triple Display) for $49.99. Whether or when the model will reach other markets like Europe remains to be seen.
