How to edit pictures in ps

How to edit pictures in ps?

1 Import your pictures into the ps program. You can drag files from the desktop to the program, or open Photoshop directly, select "File", "Open", and then select the photo you want to edit.

2 Make a copy of the background layer. Before starting editing, make a copy of the original photo to avoid mistakes. To do this, select "Layers" and then "Duplicate Layer". This will create a copy of the original image.

3 Crop the photo.Cropping is a very basic editing technique that allows you to change the shape and size of an image and cut off any unwanted parts. To crop a photo, just click on the "Crop Tool" icon on the left side of the screen. After that, click on the photo and drag your mouse to create the size and shape you need. Once done, click the Crop Tool icon again. Choose to save changes, or click Cancel to return to the original image.

If you have trouble finding the "Crop Tool" button, just hover your mouse over the various buttons in the left sidebar of the screen and explanatory text will pop up automatically.

4 Find the “Adjustment Layer” button.Layers are important in Photoshop because they are useful tools that allow you to edit a photo without tampering with the original version. Layers can be turned "on" or "off" as you continue editing, so nothing is permanent (unless you save the final draft, of course).

The Adjustment Layers button is located at the bottom of the screen to the right of the Navigator panel. It is a black and white circle containing diagonal lines. When you hover your cursor, "Create a new fill or adjustment layer" will pop up.

Click the button and a variety of editing options will appear in the drop-down list. Includes exposure, brightness/contrast, selectable colors and more. Click on one of them and you will create a new layer to set the effect, which you can turn on or off.

To turn a layer "on" or "off", just click on the eye image next to the layer.

5 Adjust exposure.First click the "Adjustment Layer" button and then select "Exposure" from the drop-down list. This will create a new layer on the navigation panel called "Exposure 1". A small screen should pop up with the appropriate options to adjust the exposure, offset, and gamma correction of the photo. Slide the slider left or right to modify it to achieve the desired effect.

Photo exposure is its brightness. When you slide the slider to the right of the watch face, the photo becomes brighter, and when you slide it to the left, the photo becomes darker.

Offset and gamma correction options let you adjust the dark and mid-tones of your photos. This can help balance the photo, or "counteract" the sharp colors produced by increasing the photo's exposure.

6 Adjust the color.Do this by creating a "Selective Color" layer. You'll see a small screen that lets you adjust the red, yellow, blue, cyan, green, magenta, black, white, and neutral tones of the image.

7 Adjust the color levels. The Levels tool allows you to adjust the overall tone and contrast of an image. To do this, create a "Levels" panel in the navigation panel. You'll see a histogram of the palette with three different cursors underneath: the blacks slider (left), the whites slider (right), and the midtones, or gamma, slider (right).

The position of the black and white tone sliders creates a range of image input levels. The black tone is at 0 and the white tone is at 255. To adjust its range, simply move the blacks slider to the right and/or the whites slider to the left. Dragging the Midtones slider to the left darkens the tones and lightens the middle values of the tones.
