The content of this article is about the method of using Django plug-in to download excel. It has certain reference value. Friends in need can refer to it. I hope it will be helpful to you.

Since most of the current information is implemented using pandas or xlwt libraries. In fact, it is not that troublesome, because django has a corresponding plug-in django-excel.

This plug-in is written dependent on the pyexcel library. However, there is no need to specifically install the pyexcel library, because pyexcel will be installed automatically when installing django-excel. Since pyexcel is a large library, and you don’t need to consider how to use pyexcel when using django-excel, I won’t introduce too much here. Here, I would like to say one more thing, pyexcel is also very powerful and can realize data visualization. Currently, corresponding plug-ins for web frameworks such as flask and django have been developed, such as the django-excel introduced today.

django-excel is a plug-in that supports uploading and downloading excel files. It can display excel files in the form of web pages and store data in the database. Since the author is new to this plug-in, and the development requirements are currently only for the download function, this article only introduces its download function. (Note: To implement the download function, the deployed server does not need to install office)

1. Installation

pip install django-excel

pyexcel-io and pyexcel will be automatically installed during installation , pyexcel-webio

2. Versions that support django

currently support version django2.1.1. Therefore, developers using the latest version of django don’t have to worry, because it supports it.

3. Implement download

The plug-in supports many data formats, array (two-dimensional array), dictionary, database table (single or multiple), Django's ORM query results ( query sqt) and so on. File types that can be generated: csv, tsv, csvz, tsvz, xls, xlsx, xlsm, ods.

##csv, csvz, tsv, tsvz 2.6, 2.7, 3.3, 3.4, 3.5, 3.6 pypyxls, xlsx(read-only), xlsm(read-only) Same as aboveopenpyxl##pyexcel-ods3pyexcel-ods

The above table is the installation required to generate the corresponding file format Bag.

If you want to use a two-dimensional array to generate an excel file, you need to return django_excel.make_response_from_array (two-dimensional array name, generated file type, status=200). Each row of the two-dimensional array represents the corresponding row in Excel.

If you want to use a dictionary to generate an excel file, you need to return django_excel.make_response_from_dict(dictionary name, file type, status=200). The key name is the column name and the key value is the data.

If you want to use a database table (sheet) to generate an excel file, you need to return django_excel.make_response_from_a_table(table name, file type, status=200)

If you want to use database tables (multiple tables) to generate excel files, you need to return django_excel.make_response_from_tables(table name list, file type status=200)

If you want to use query sets to generate excel files, you need to return django_excel.make_response_from_query_sets(query set name, required column corresponding field (list type), file type, status=200). The order in the list of fields corresponding to the required columns is the order of the Excel column names, and the elements in the list must be variable names in the model.

The common parameters of all functions include file_name and sheet_name, which are the file name and Excel workbook name respectively.

Note that whether it is a database table or a query set, it cannot contain foreign keys, otherwise an error will be reported, and downloading can only be achieved through page jumps, not through ajax requests, otherwise it will not be downloaded.

eg:

models.py

class django_test_1(models.Model):
    abc = models.CharField(max_length=20,db_column='测试')
Copy after login

views.py

import django_excel as excel
def download_excel(request):
    data_excel =django_test_1.objects.all()
    column_names = ["abc"]
    return excel.make_response_from_query_sets(data_excel,column_names, "xlsx",status = 200 ,sheet_name='测试',file_name='测试文件')
Copy after login
