Generally during the development process of a website, there will be a template or layout, which contains the appearance and layout of the entire website, generally divided into header, content, footer and some even include menu. The content part will change with different pages and functions. This can ensure the consistency of the website style and reduce a lot of workload. Although the convenient Codeigniter does not provide built-in processing methods, we still extended it ourselves.

First, save the following code to application/libraries/Layout.php

<?php
if (!defined('BASEPATH')) exit('No direct script access allowed');

class Layout
{

    var $obj;
    var $layout;

    function Layout($layout = "layout_main")
    {
        $this->obj =& get_instance();
        $this->layout = $layout;
    }

    function setLayout($layout)
    {
      $this->layout = $layout;
    }

    function view($view, $data=null, $return=false)
    {
        $data['content_for_layout'] = $this->obj->load->view($view,$data,true);

        if($return)
        {
            $output = $this->obj->load->view($this->layout,$data, true);
            return $output;
        }
        else
        {
            $this->obj->load->view($this->layout,$data, false);
        }
    }
}
?>
Copy after login

Load it in the relevant controller:

$this->load->library('layout');
Copy after login

Go down to output the page:

$data["page_title"] = "帮客之家";
$data["Keywords"] = "互联网,技术";
$data["Description"] = "专注于互联网技术";
$this->layout->view('support',$data);
Copy after login

Our template or layout file (layout_main.php) is roughly as follows (simplified, there will be many fixed elements of the website in actual applications):

<html>
<body>
<?=$content_for_layout ?>
<?php
//不习惯短标签写法的,可以用标准写法如下
//echo $content_for_layout ;
?>
</body>
</html>
Copy after login

The view loaded in the controller is "support" in this example. We just need to focus on the support content. It will be filled in the $content_for_layout part of the template or layout file and output as a whole.

If our template or layout does not want to be called layout_main.php, for example, we want to call it template.php; then we need to specify the name of the template when loading the layout library, and specify it in the second parameter (no php suffix required):

$this->load->library('layout','template');
Copy after login
