Despite the high-profile failure of Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League last year, Warner Bros. Games is still pushing for a brand new online service game.

Recently, WB Games Montréal released a recruitment information for executive producer positions, which mentioned the full process development work of "from concept design to continuous operation after launch", requiring candidates to have "a deep understanding of the complete game development cycle, including experience in the live-service (online service) model."

Although the specific project was not clearly specified in the recruitment, the description shows that this will be a "high-quality AAA game built on the iconic IPs in Warner Bros. and DC Comics' huge IP library."

Previously, WB Games Montréal had developed the DC-themed game "Gotham Knights". Although the game is not a service-oriented game, the market performance is also poor. In December last year, the studio laid off 99 employees.

Today, the studio appears to be re-expanding its team to prepare for the development of its next masterpiece.

In February this year, DC Entertainment's new co-CEO James Gunn revealed that he has communicated with Rocksteady Studios and NetherlandsRealm Studios, planning to develop new game works for DC Universe.

It is not clear whether WB Games Montréal is also involved in another DC-themed project. In June this year, Warner Bros. Games announced leadership adjustments, refocusing its strategic focus on its most influential IPs: DC, Mortal Kombat, Harry Potter and Game of Thrones.

Among them, the DC Universe is most likely to become the carrier of online service games again. However, the decision followed Rocksteady's Suicide Squad's failure, which failed to attract enough players, causing Warner Bros.'s gaming division to plummet 41% last year and eventually triggered studio layoffs.
