After disrupting Evanuris’ ritual in the Arlathan Forest, Rook hears from a mystery informant in Treviso, who seemingly knows the location of the next ritual. Once you get to Treviso, however, you learn that the Antaam has somehow taken over the city. For the Love of Treviso in Dragon Age: The Veilguard requires you to travel to the city to meet with Teia and Viago in the hopes of learning the whereabouts of Elgar’nan and Ghilan’nain.
There are no consequential decisions that you will need to make throughout the quest. Furthermore, there aren't any major fights, so you are free to choose any companions you want. We do, however, recommend someone who dishes out a lot of Necrotic damage, since all the enemies are weak to it.
After you arrive in Treviso, follow the objective marker to see Teia and Viago. You will see them in a heated argument with Governor Ivenci about the Antaam rampaging through the city. Additionally, you will learn about a mysterious informant who apparently has some leads regarding the gods’ ritual site.
There are no wrong choices here, so choose whatever suits your Rook's personality the most — remember to select 'More' on the dialogue wheel to learn more about the situation.
In the next room with the red sofas, grab the Codex Entry before heading outside towards the marketplace. Use the zipline to reach a courtyard, and be sure to open the chest before jumping down.
Walk on the narrow ledge near the statue to jump into a room with a chest containing Antivan Parade Helm. Once collected, pull the nearby lever to open the gate and be on your way.
The next section is pretty straightforward — simply follow the objective marker to reach a door. This is where you will be asked to choose your companions. Bellara, Harding, Emmrich, Taash, and Neve are all completely viable options. The fight at the end is not the toughest one, so choose whomever you prefer!
Whenever you are ready, enter the door to find your ‘mysterious informant’ to be none other than Butcher Daathrata. Again, your choices do not matter here: there is just a slight variation in the dialogue. Once the cutscene concludes, The Butcher will let himself fall to the Blight.
After he leaves, you will need to deal with a pair of Warband Karataars equipped with Greatshields. They are vulnerable to Necrotic and resistant to Lightning. Remember that you will need to use Charged Attacks to get rid of their shields. Once you have dealt with them, head over to the Drowned District.
Follow the objective marker to find The Butcher in the Drowned District. You will see him corrupted by the gods and fighting his own Antaam.
Before heading toward The Butcher, turn left to collect The Writ of Free Commerce Memento and enter the nearby room to find Butcher's Screw for Lucanis from a chest.
Similar to the Antaam we fought previously, the Butcher is also vulnerable to Necrotic and resistant to Lightning. He is also Armored, so you will need to get rid of it first. If you have someone who can deal Necrotic damage, it should help trivialize the entire fight.
He can breathe fire in a straight line, which should not be hard to dodge. Whenever you are too far away from him, he will try to Superman-punch you to quickly close in the distance. This attack has a somewhat long wind-up animation, giving you ample time to dodge. If you see him raise both his arms, it means he is about to do a stomp attack — sometimes in a two-hit combo.
Throughout the fight, try to avoid getting hit because his attacks can easily stun-lock you for some massive damage. Also, do not forget to use your Ultimate Ability whenever it becomes available to take away a chunk of his HP. At about 10 percent HP, the Corrupted Butcher will fall onto his knees and get staggered momentarily. When this happens, rush in and press the on-screen prompt to finish him for good.
Before dying, however, he will divulge the name of the place where the gods are planning to hold the ritual. You will also learn about Governor IvencI being a traitor, but we will deal with him another time. For now, return to Teia and Viago to complete the quest.
You will get a few Fade-Touched Crystals, 400 Gold, 250 Antivan Crows Strength, Executioner’s Blade, and an increased bond with whichever two companions you brought along for the quest.
