MSI has already announced the successorto the first-gen Claw, which will be featuring Intel Lunar Lake processors. While pricing details are still under wraps, the new gaming handheld is expected to be a bit more expensive than the predecessor.
Speaking of the first-gen MSI Claw, the gaming handheld didn't quite get the same level of popularity as its competitors. Lenovo Legion Go and ROG Ally with Ryzen Z1 Extremeoffered better performance, but things have become a tad better with the recent driver updates.
With these new updates, the Claw is a better purchase than at launch, and the good part is that it's currently on sale. You can get the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H variant with 512 GB of storage for $569 on Amazon. This is a decent $180 discount from the regular price tag, and it's also the record-low price for this variant of the gaming handheld.
Our initial impressionsof the MSI Claw weren't great, mainly because the gaming handheld was too expensive for the performance it brought to the table. Competitors like the Z1 Extreme ROG Ally were a far better value, but, as mentioned earlier, things changed a bit with the new drivers.
Some of these updates even promised up to 150% bettergaming performance, and as The Phawx detailed in a recent video, the latest update does make the gaming handheld better. You can check out how it currently compares to the ROG Ally X from the video attached below.
