The Royal Mint has launched a special 50p coin to mark 200 years of the RNLI.
The coin was unveiled at The Royal Mint's ‘Big Summer Fun Day,’ where RNLI volunteer crews shared stories from their rescue missions and highlighted key water safety messages.
The coin features the RNLI flag and is surrounded by a bright orange lifebuoy ring. RNLI volunteers were the first to strike this very special coin.

The coin is available to strike on a tour at The Royal Mint Experience until Monday 30 September 2024.
The RNLI was founded in 1824 and has since saved over 146,000 lives at sea. A total of 9,192 lifeboat crews were launched last year by the RNLI saving 355 lives.
