Asus is embracing Intel Lunar Lake with a bevy of new launches at IFA 2024. Apart from the new VivoBook S 14, ZenBook S 14, and the refreshed ExpertBook P5, Asus is also introducing Lunar Lake versions of the VivoBook 14 Flip and VivoBook 16 Flip Copilot+ PC convertibles.
The VivoBook 14 Flip and VivoBook 16 Flip share largely similar specifications. This includes the Intel Core Ultra 7 258V processor with 32 GB of LPDDR5X memory on package, 1 TB NVMe PCIe Gen 4 SSD with an additional M.2 slot for storage expansion, 1080p IR webcam, and Wi-Fi 7.
The primary differences between the two VivoBook Flip models are with respect to the display and battery capacity. The VivoBook 14 Flip comes with a 14-inch FHD+ 60 Hz touch OLED panel that offers 500 nits HDR peak brightness and 100% DCI-P3 coverage while the VivoBook 16 Flip features a 2880 x 1800 3K 120 Hz OLED touch display that can also peak up to 500 nits in HDR mode and cover the entire DCI-P3 color gamut.
Given its smaller size, the VivoBook 14 Flip sports a 4-cell 4S1P 70 Whr Li-ion battery while the VivoBook 16 Flip has a larger 4-cell 2S2P 75 Whr variant. Consequently, the VivoBook 14 Flip weighs 1.57 kg while its 16-inch counterpart tips the scales at 1.8 kg.
Both VivoBook Flip models feature an identical array of ports that include one each of USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C with DisplayPort and power delivery, Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1-out, microSD card reader, and a combo audio jack. These convertibles also come with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 networking and are compatible with the optional Asus Pen 2.0.
Pricing and availability information are not yet known.
