Oppo's focus is on the Find X8 series which is expected to launch in October. However, foldable smartphones have been taking the spotlight lately with manufacturers such as Tecno showing off a tri-foldable smartphone. Not wanting to miss out on the buzz, Oppo has shared a render of its own triple folding device.
The render was shared on Weibo by Zhou Yibao, the product manager for Oppo's Find N series. The render shows the device in its unfolded state with a screen estate similar to that of a tablet that's at least 10 inches in size.
There's also a look at the rear, albeit partially covered, and it shows a thicker hinge on one side and a second thinner hinge. Our guess is that the part with the thinner hinge folds inwards while the part with the thicker hinge folds outwards, so users can use the phone in its folded state. The image also shows the phone has a leather-like back.
Other details include a power button on the left while the volume rocker is on the right. The bezels are also pretty thin which isn't unusual for a render. Interestingly, the icons on the screen include a number of Apple apps such as Safari, HomeKit, and Find My, alongside Google ones.
While there's no info on when or if Oppo would release a triple-folding phone, the OnePlus Open (curr. $1,399 on Amazon) is still a fantastic choice for any one who wants to purchase a foldable
