The 10-core, 16-thread (6 performance cores, 4 efficiency cores) CPU held its own, exhibiting decent efficiency, thanks to a 45 W TDP, all without thermal throttling.

The highlight of the Katana 17 has to be the GeForce RTX 4060, which performed around 5% faster in the Katana 17 than the average RTX 4060 Laptop GPU in our database and a solid 13% faster than the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 in the MSI Pulse GL76. The fast GPU makes the Katana a solid budget gamer or creative workhorse — as long as you're plugged into an external display (like the affordable 1440pASUS TUF Gaming 34 — currently $249.99 on Amazon) for any colour-critical work.
