Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Plus processors did not manage to impress too much on the performance side, especially given the quirks that need to be solved for the non-native ARM applications, but the energy efficiency side proved quite promising. From this perspective, the ~$1,000 starting prices seemed a bit too high at launch. Thankfully, OEMs are already offering decent discounts on select models like the Inspiron 14 Plus that is currently only $809.99 on Dell’s online store with a “SAVE10” coupon applicable at checkout.

At the heart of the discounted Inspiron 14 Plus is the Snapdragon X Plus X1P-64-100 SoC with 10 Oryon CPU cores that can boost to 3.4 GHz plus an Adreno X1-85 iGPU, as well as a 45 TOPS NPU. The configuration also integrates 16 GB LPDDR5X-8448 RAM and a 512 GB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD. As revealed in our tests, the 10-core CPU side is almost as fast as Intel’s i7-13700H and the NPU is one of the fastest available now, but the iGPU cannot compete with AMD’s Radeon 780M.

The connectivity side, however, is fairly generous for this price point. First of all, this model is among the first to feature the brand new Fast Connect 7800 Wi-Fi 7 + BT 5.4 card. Then, the port selection includes 2x USB4 connectors, a USB-A 3.2 Gen 1, audio jack and a microsSD card reader.

On the display side, there is a decent 14-inch 2880 x 1800 IPS panel with 60 Hz refresh rate, 100% sRGB color gamut, touch capabilities and 400-nit maximum brightness. At the top, Dell provides a 1080p webcam with a 720p IR sensor.

Other features worth mentioning are the backlit keyboard with dedicated Copilot key, a 2x 2 W woofer + 2x 2 W tweeter Aqstic Speaker Max sound system and the relatively light chassis that weighs 3.17 lbs (1.4 kg) with the 54 Wh battery.
