It is no secret that MagicX is preparing to release new retro gaming handhelds. For context, details of an updated XU Mini M emerged last week, shortly after a video revealing three forthcoming MagicX devices surfaced online. It now seems that the former may arrive under a different name to the XU Mini M, though.
While MagicX will keep what was previously known as the 'Crystal Collections Edition' within the XU Mini M family, it will not launch as the XU Mini M Crystal Collections Edition. Instead, the company intends to offer new colours as the XU Mini M Plus, stylised as 'XU Mini M+'. Reportedly, the name change coincides with a series of improvements over the existing XU Mini M, which ships with a Rockchip RK3562 chipset, 1 GB of LPDDR4 RAM, a 2,600 mAh battery and a 2.8-inch IPS display like the Anbernic RG28XX (curr. $59.99 on Amazon).
As far as we can tell, the XU Mini M Plus will launch with the same display and battery capacity as its sibling. However, MagicX plans to upgrade its SoC to the Allwinner A133 Plus, which should be joined by 2 GB of RAM and new custom firmware aided by Vulkan to maximise performance. Unfortunately, other details remain unknown for now, other than that MagicX intends to release the XU Mini M Plus in October.
The above is the detailed content of MagicX XU Mini M Plus revealed with performance upgrades to rival Anbernic RG28XX. For more information, please follow other related articles on the PHP Chinese website!
