Marshall has revealed the Emberton III portable speaker. The gadget has arrived alongside the Willen II, and both models are advertised as delivering a 360° experience. The Emberton III follows the Emberton II, which launched in 2022.
Like its predecessor, the Emberton III uses True Stereophonic technology for multidirectional sound. Upgrades include Dynamic Loudness, optimizing the sound for your chosen volume, and Bluetooth technology LE Audio. Auracast will arrive later in an OTA update with benefits like higher-quality audio, less background noise, and the ability to connect directly to other units of the Emberton III without relying on a source device. On top of this, the latest version adds a microphone so that the speaker can be used for phone calls.
The Emberton III is said to run for up to 32 hours on a single charge, two more than the Emberton II. According to Marshall, this new speaker is also more user-friendly and is made with “better material”. The device is IP67-rated dust and waterproof and can withstand being submerged in 1 m (~3.3 ft) water for half an hour, making it suitable for outdoor use. You can now pre-order the Marshall Emberton III for $169.99/£149.99/€179.99, the same price as its predecessor. The device will officially launch on August 26th, when orders are expected to ship.
