Last week was busier than usual for the United States Mint with its new product launches, which included the 2024-S Proof American Silver Eagle, Celia Cruz quarters, and the Chester A. Arthur Presidential Silver Medal. The latest sales data from the U.S. Mint highlights how these products have initially performed.

The United States Mint experienced a busy week with the debut of several new numismatic products, including the 2024-S Proof American Silver Eagle, Celia Cruz quarters, and the Chester A. Arthur Presidential Silver Medal. Here's a look at how these products performed in their first days of sales.

Released on Aug. 7, the proof Silver Eagle achieved combined sales of 131,680 coins within the first five days of its release. This includes 119,000 coins for the standalone option (product code 24EM) and 12,680 coins for the 40-coin bulk option (product code 24EM040), with 317 units sold.

The Mint also released the Celia Cruz quarter on Aug. 7, marking the fourteenth installment in its four-year coin series commemorating the achievements of American women and the fourth quarter issued this year. Combined roll and bag products sold in the early days totaled 1,925,500 quarters.

The Chester A. Arthur Presidential 1-ounce silver medal, priced at $90, recorded initial sales of 14,001. Its sales already surpass those of any other Presidential silver medal released since 2021, except for the Abraham Lincoln medal, which has reached 19,338.

In its latest report, the U.S. Mint published sales data for 480 numismatic products. The data revealed that 98 products outperformed their sales from the previous week, compared to 73 in the prior report. Three products experienced week-over-week increases of more than 1,000 units, compared to 4 in the prior report.

Six products recorded negative weekly sales, compared to 7 in the previous report. One of them registered a quadruple-digit loss: the 2024-P Uncirculated Morgan Silver Dollar fell by 1,660. The four roll and bag products featuring Missouri Innovation dollars were among the decliners, for a second week in a row, with losses ranging from 151 units to 235 units.
