Apple’s most powerful small desktop computer just released has been torn down by Max Studio.
Mac Studio’s comprehensive teardown shows the true power of Apple’s latest chip, the M1 Ultra. This multi-chip module contains two M1 max dies interconnected using UltraFusion technology. While the system is certainly powerful and delivers strong performance at video encoding, it still can't match desktop GPUs in raw compositing or gaming workloads, as shown in this first test.
