News on April 1, according to media reports, the release of Apple iPad Pro 2024 has been postponed to May due to insufficient supply of OLED panels.

iPad Pro 2024 includes 11-inch and 13-inch versions. The 11-inch OLED panel is supplied by Samsung, while the 13-inch OLED panel is supplied by LG Display.

The report pointed out that the yield rate of the 11-inch OLED panels supplied by Samsung was insufficient, which was the main reason for the delay in the release of iPad Pro 2024. In order to solve this problem, Apple transferred some 11-inch orders to LG Display.

Currently, after passing Apple’s quality test, the 11-inch OLED panel produced by LG Display has met the requirements. After adjustments, about 60% of iPad Pro 2024 OLED orders will be supplied by LG Display.

It is worth mentioning that iPad Pro 2024 uses a dual series OLED panel. This screen structure has two emission layers. Compared with a single-layer OLED panel, the screen brightness of the double-layer structure can be increased by 2 times and the service life can be extended by 4 times.
