AMD now provides memory overclocking support for RX 7900 GRE graphics cards
According to news from this site on March 24, AMD recently launched a new 24.3.1 graphics driver update for Radeon graphics card users, focusing on adding support for "Dragon's Dogma 2", "Horizon: West End" and "Reloaded". Outpost support.
TechPowerUP discovered that AMD has quietly unlocked full overclocking support for the Radeon RX 7900 GRE graphics card in the latest Adrenalin 24.3.1 WHQL driver, or it has removed the memory overclocking restriction. In addition, the 24.3.1 driver also adds a frequency limit coverage function that can automatically adjust the power consumption limit when booting.
RX 7900 GRE was initially launched for the Chinese market in 2023 and later released for the global market in February 2024. As of the time of publication of this website, the current mainstream models of RX 7900 GRE on JD.com are between 4,499 and 4,999 yuan, and the ASUS white TUF model has reached 5,299 yuan.
After the global release, some reviewers found that the overclocking performance improvement of this graphics card was lower than expected. Subsequently, AMD stated that it had confirmed the problem, saying that the problem was caused by incorrect memory tuning limits of the RX 7900 GRE, and promised to fix it through a new driver.
According to TechPowerUP testing, the RX 7900 GRE can reach a memory speed of 3000 MHz (24 Gbps) when using the latest driver, which is a significant increase compared to the previous 2316 MHz, resulting in an overclocking of approximately 15% promote.
