SK Hynix upgrades Wuxi factory to launch fourth-generation DRAM products

According to sources, SK Hynix plans to complete part of the fourth-generation D-RAM process at the Wuxi factory and transport the wafers to the Wuxi factory. In the Lichuan Park of the Korean headquarters, they are processed by EUV and then returned to the Wuxi factory.

Since only one D-RAM layer of the fourth-generation product requires EUV processing, the company clearly believes that the increased cost is worth it.

During the Wuxi factory fire in 2013, the company overcame the difficulties of D-RAM production interruption and accumulated rich experience.

Regarding the process transformation of the Wuxi factory, SK Hynix stated that it could not confirm the company’s specific factory operation plan.
