Microsoft is preparing to release its fourth generation large language model (LLM) GPT-4, which will be more advanced than its predecessor GPT-3.5 and be able to better understand natural language. The tech giant plans to unveil the model at an upcoming event called AI in Focus - Digital Kickoff.
Microsoft Germany CTO Andreas Braun confirmed the release of GPT-4 according to Windows Central, hinting that the new model will bring exciting new features. One of the most prominent features of GPT-4 is its multimodal capabilities, enabling machines to process and interpret information from different modalities (such as audio, visual, and text) simultaneously.
"We are launching GPT-4 next week and we have multi-modal models that will provide completely different possibilities - for example, video," Braun was quoted as saying.
Another exciting feature is that GPT-4 can generate AI videos based on short text prompts. Having this capability will expand LLM’s creative capabilities and scope, and has the potential to revolutionize video production across industries.
While GPT-3.5 powers the popular conversational AI tool ChatGPT, its limitations limit it to text-based responses. GPT-4’s multi-modal model can change this situation and create a broader development space for more complex and diverse content.
In related news, ChatGPT’s integration with Microsoft’s Bing search engine has fueled the engine’s growth, helping it reach more than 100 million daily active users. About one-third of Bing Preview users use AI chat every day. While Google Search has more than 1 billion daily active users, Bing's growth remains impressive, and its use of AI chat has contributed significantly to its success.
