Microsoft has pushed out an update for Surface Pro 7 devices to improve the performance of the devices. The latest January 2023 firmware update for Surface Pro 7 improves Windows Hellow sign-in stability and improves connectivity with third-party docks. It also addresses camera performance and stability issues, and resolves system bug checking.

Like all previous Surface firmware updates, the January 2023 firmware will be phased in launch, meaning not everyone will get it on the same day. It may take a week or so before it becomes available to everyone. It's also important to note that the latest firmware is rolling out to devices running Windows 10 May 2020 Update 20H1 or later.

If you just received it on your Surface Pro 7, there are a few things you should remember listed below.

  • Firmware updates cannot be uninstalled or reverted to an earlier version.
  • When you install the latest updates, you'll also get previous updates for your Surface if it doesn't already have them. Only updates for Surface will be downloaded and installed.
  • After installing the update, restart your device to complete the installation process. To restart your device, select theStartbutton, then selectPower>Restart.
