ImageMagick is a powerful, stable and free toolset and development package that can be used to read, write and process image files in more than 185 basic formats, including popular TIFF, JPEG, GIF, PNG, PDF and PhotoCD and other formats. Using ImageMagick, you can dynamically generate images according to the needs of web applications. You can also change the size, rotate, sharpen, reduce color or add special effects to an image (or a group of images), and save the results in the same format. or save in other formats.
Let PHP generate PSD file thumbnails through imagick
The first step is to install ImageMagick
You need to install ImageMagick first, because imagick is a PHP extension that allows PHP to call the ImageMagick function. (The latest version currently is: ImageMagick-6.8.9-5-Q16-x64-dll.exe)
The installation directory cannot have spaces. I personally installed it in the root directory of the C drive:
C:\ImageMagick
It can be installed by default all the way. After the installation is completed, open the CMD command line interface, enter: convert, and press Enter. If you can see a lot of content, the installation is successful.
If you are prompted " convert is not an internal or external command, operable program or batch file" or "Please enter the drive letter to convert" ( convert is a default system for converting FAT32 to NTFS command) then you need to add the ImageMagick installation path to the system path yourself.
My Computer-> Right-click-> Properties-> Advanced-> Environment Variables-> System Variables-> Find "Path"-> Select and click to edit-> ; Add your installation path to it.
Second step, install imagick
Click here to download. Please note that you need to download the corresponding PHP version when downloading. Also note that the system is 32 bit or 64-bit, and whether PHP is the NTS version or the TS version (the latest stable version is 3.1.2. Regarding how to determine whether PHP is the NTS version or the TS version, you can check the Thread Safety item through phpinfo. If it is enabled, it means it is TS version, otherwise it is NTS version)
Extract the downloaded compressed package, find the php_imagick.dll file, put it in the PHP extension directory, then open the php.ini file, and locate it in the corresponding location Add the following line:
extension=php_imagick.dll
Save and exit and restart the computer to ensure it takes effect.
If it does not take effect, copy all the "CORE_RL_*.dll" files in the compressed package to the php root directory, such as: D:\php5.6
The third step, Check
If everything is normal, you should be able to see the imagick item in phpinfo after restarting, such as:
If not found, return to the first step and replace with a different version of ImageMagick Reinstall and recommission.
The fourth step, test
OK, at this step you can start writing code, I won’t go into details about the process, just go to the code
error_reporting(E_ERROR | E_WARNING); $im = new Imagick('1.psd'); $im->setImageIndex(0); $im->setIteratorIndex(0); $im->stripImage(); //去除图片信息 $im->setImageCompressionQuality(80); //图片质量 $im->writeImage('1.jpg');
The above code has been tested and can correctly generate a 1.jpg picture.
It is recommended that the thumbnails should be in jpg format, because the png format does not support compression. When I tested, I used a 30M PSD file. The generated png thumbnail was more than 3M, while the jpg was only about 200KB, and the generated The speed of png images is obviously very slow, taking about 3 or 4 seconds.
In addition, we did an extreme test and used a PSD file of nearly 600M to generate jpg thumbnails. The speed was basically within 2 seconds and the file size was less than 2.5M. Since the size of the image was not modified, Therefore, the size of the final generated file can be reduced according to the actual situation.
The fifth step, other formats
In addition to PSD files, I also tried some other formats, such as MP4, AVI and other video formats, but the generation speed is super slow . Finally, I found that the most practical thing is to generate thumbnails of PDF files, but before processing PDF files, you need to install Ghostscript , and then the overall code is basically the same as the code to generate PSD
$im = new Imagick(); $im->readImage('D:/soft/wamp/www/test/1.pdf[0]'); //echo $im->getNumberImages(); $im->writeImages('D:/soft/wamp/www/test/1.jpg', false);
