What to do if pr imports srt subtitles with garbled characters?
Jan 11, 2020 am 11:24 AMWhen we edit videos, we often encounter garbled characters when srt subtitles are imported into PR. Let’s take a look at the solution:
1. If the subtitles are Chinese, Or for subtitles that are mainly in Chinese, the font of the character window must be Chinese fonts, and English fonts cannot be used.
2. If the Chinese font is used and the subtitles are still incomplete or garbled, it is likely that the format encoding of the subtitles is incorrect and UTF-8 is not used. Run Notpad (or Notepad) and open the srt subtitles. Switch to "Encode in UTF-8" and press Ctrl S to save it. Re-import the PR and give it a try;
If it still doesn’t work, switch to “encoding in UTF-8 without BOM format” and it still doesn’t work.
Try the second option:
Open srt directly with arctime software, then select the export method as XML png, select the corresponding option on the left, and import pr after export.
