It's been three years since I reviewed the HX1500i PSU, and now we're diving into the refreshed 4th Generation model for 2025. These updated units come with Platinum certification, are fully modular, and are clearly aimed at high-performance builds—especially those powered by an RTX 5090 or comparable next-gen GPU. Corsair is releasing two variants: a 1200W and a 1500W version, the latter being the unit under review today.

Alongside a refined design, the 2025 update brings braided cables with low-profile combs for improved aesthetics and cable management, and the PSU now includes dual 12V-2×6 power cables straight out of the box.

Both new 4th Gen HXi PSUs have earned the prestigious Cybenetics Platinum certification—an upgrade over the aging 80 Plus standard and a more accurate reflection of real-world efficiency. Fully compliant with ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 specifications, these units are built for the latest hardware demands. They feature a 140mm Fluid Dynamic Bearing (FDB) fan and are equipped with 105°C-rated Japanese capacitors for enhanced durability. Corsair backs these models with a solid 10-year warranty.

As a reminder, the “i” in HXi stands for iCUE compatibility—meaning full digital control via Corsair’s desktop software. With iCUE, users can customize fan curves, monitor system power draw in real time, and even toggle between single-rail and multi-rail overcurrent protection (OCP) modes. These PSUs are manufactured by Channel Well Technology (CWT), developed in collaboration with Corsair’s internal engineering team.

What's Included:

  • Designed for next-generation GPUs
  • Dual 12V-2×6 connectors included
  • 140mm Fluid Dynamic Bearing fan with Zero RPM mode
  • 100% Japanese 105°C-rated electrolytic capacitors
  • Backed by a 10-year warranty
  • Certified to Intel® ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 standards
