The Sims 2: How To Buy A Car
In The Sims 2, ditch the unreliable public transport and upgrade your Sim's commute with a personal vehicle! This guide shows you how to easily purchase and house a car (or even a helicopter!) for a stylish and efficient journey to work and beyond.
Acquiring a Car:
First, add a driveway to your lot. You'll find this option in the Build Mode's garage section, alongside garage doors and a helipad. Choose the longer driveway with the small extension that overhangs the sidewalk. Position it to connect to the street, ensuring enough space for your Sim to maneuver.
Next, purchase a car from Buy Mode's miscellaneous section. Choose from these options:

Building a Garage:
To protect your car from the elements, construct a garage. Begin by extending your driveway using the shorter driveway sections (without the sidewalk overhang) in Build Mode. Enclose this extension with walls and a roof, adding a garage door for easy access. Your Sim will park neatly inside. Note that multiple cars may cause parking issues.
Helicopter Acquisition:
For the ultimate status symbol, consider a helicopter! Build a helipad on your lot (allowing ample space). Then, return to Buy Mode, locate the helicopter in the car menu, and place it on the helipad.
