In Ancient Times in Luma Island, magical creatures called Luma used to roam the land and druids befriended them. They worked in harmony and the Luma's magical energies helped them craft, but like many things, this art got lost to time, along with the Luma themselves.
As you explore the island and settle in, you'll find mysterious ruins left behind by the ancient civilizations. They're filled to the brim with traps and monsters that have either snuck in or were left there on purpose, but if you make it through, you'll be rewarded with something special: an egg you can hatch into one of those same ancient Luma.
There are a total of 15 Luma Eggs you can find throughout the game, with two found on your Farm, while the other three regions each have four.
The majority of Luma Eggs will be obtained by completing the different regional Temples, as each one save for the main temple gives one as a reward.
Luma Eggs are only obtained from Orange Chests, and any other type will reward either regular loot, regional jewelry, or if it's a Red Chest, a special drawing.
The rest come from a different type of puzzle: the regional Shrine. Each of these shrines has Eight offering crystals that are hidden throughout the region for you to find and then need to be put into the Offering Pedestals in front of each building.
Once they're in, the door will open and there's going to be an Orange Chest with a Luma egg inside, as well as a Purple Chest, and either a Blue Chest or an Ancient Book, depending on the location.
You can purchase duplicate Luma Eggs from the Pet Store once you've found an egg and it's been repaired after the earthquake on day five.
Once you've got a Luma Egg of any kind, all you need to do to hatch it is either purchase or bring it to a Luma Incubator, craft a Luma Life with one of the five types of Spirits, then craft the Luma with the egg and Luma Life.
