While their purpose isn’t immediately clear, they become essential in the recurring "A Remedy for All Discovery" quest found in every region Indy explores. These collectibles can be traded to permanently enhance his constitution.

The Vatican City introduces the first iteration of this quest and houses 15 Medicine Bottles dotted throughout the area. You’ll need to collect them all to trade at Valeria's pharmacy and secure the Adventure Books that improve Indy’s health and stamina. Here's where to find each one.

How To Use The Vatican City Medicine Bottles

The "A Remedy For All" quest kicks off when you stumble upon your first Medicine Bottle, and a quick chat with the pharmacist Valeria reveals their purpose. She’ll mention a shortage of medicines and request you to bring her any Medicine Bottles you find.

Turning in these bottles lets you buy the first three Moxie and Shaping Up Adventure Books, which increases Indy’s stamina and health, respectively. The first book of each series costs five bottles, with each subsequent upgrade increasing by five more.

While the Medicine Bottles you'll find in the Vatican won’t cover all six books, don’t fret; you’ll find plenty more in Gizeh later.

All Vatican City Medicine Bottle Locations

All 15 Medicine Bottles in Vatican City are scattered across the overworld, so you won’t need to descend into the underworld for this task. Most of them are found in areas patrolled by Blackshirts, so be cautious. If you snag one in their presence, they'll raise the alarm. Always ensure the coast is clear before making your move.

Borgia Tower		From the previous Medicine Bottle, climb the nearby scaffolding and use a whip point to ascend further onto a roof. You’ll find this one resting on a wooden crate.
Apostolic Palace		Head east from the Borgia Courtyards to reach the Apostolic Palace entrance. The Medicine Bottle is underneath the staircase just inside. Without the Blackshirt Uniform, however, the guard outside won’t let you in, so you’ll need to deal with them first.

Via Di Belvedere		Take the exit leading to the Vatican Post Office from the Belvedere Courtyard and enter through the metal gate on the right. Inside the dead-end alley, you'll find the Medicine Bottle on a table.
Vatican Post Office		Head into the alleyway behind the Vatican Post Office. You'll spot the Medicine Bottle resting on a small wooden table near a fascist propaganda poster on the wall.
Tower of Nicholas the Fifth		You'll find this Medicine Bottle in front of a large wooden gate to the south of the tower.
Blackshirt Barracks		Outside the barracks, climb the scaffolding to reach an overhang. Navigate along it until you reach a zipline, which will carry you straight through a window into one of the barracks. Inside, you'll find the Medicine Bottle.
Blackshirt Barracks		Inside one of the barracks that unlocks with the Blackshirt Key. You’ll acquire the key along with the Blackshirt Uniform after meeting Gina for the first time in the fascist laundry area below the balcony.
Excavation Site		During the A Savage Discovery side quest, you’ll enter a cabin in the dig site to search for someone named Giuseppe. You’ll find the Medicine Bottle resting on a bench inside.
Excavation Site		To get this Medicine Bottle, you'll need to start the Mad Priest quest and progress until you acquire the Sewer Key. Navigate through the Sewers, climb up to the ledge above, and then head upstairs to enter the storeroom section of the Apostolic Castle. Along the way, you'll find the Medicine Bottle, which you wouldn't be able to access without doing this quest.

Borgia Tower		Progress through the "A Nun In Trouble" quest until you acquire Giuliana's Key, which unlocks the door inside the Borgia Tower. Work your way around the balcony, and you'll find the Medicine Bottle beside a zipline.
