As you progress further in Lego Fortnite Odyssey, you'll find yourself in need of even rarer crafting resources, many of which are hard to come by or dangerous to track down. Sometimes, a crafting recipe will require an item but you have yet to unlock the base resource, and you might find that's the case with Copper Bars.
Of course, to make Copper Bars, you will need some Copper first. We've got everything you need to know about how to get Copper and smelt it into Copper Bars, including all the tools and work stations you'll need in the process.
Updated December 20, 2024: We've updated this article to reflect the changes made during the Odyssey update.
As of the Odyssey update, Copper is now found within caves in the Dry Valley, including Lava Caves, and within caves in the Grasslands.
Caves in the Dry Valley will subject your character to intense heat, so be sure to use charms or consumables to keep your cool.
You will need an Uncommon Pickaxe, and with the introduction of Component-based Crafting, there is more flexibility in terms of which materials are required to create items.
When you are selecting your chosen crafting materials, just ensure the recipe reflects that you'll be crafting an Uncommon Pickaxe (or better) on the right side of the screen.
Now you've got Copper, you'll want to smelt it into Copper Bars, but you'll first need to unlock the Metal Smelter work station.
You unlock the Metal Smelter as soon as you have found some Brightcore.
You can then craft the Metal Smelter with the following crafting resources:

|||
---|---|---|---|
3x Brightcore | |||
35x Granite Slab |
You'll need to farm from Brightcore to make Copper Bars anyway, so make sure you get a bunch of Copper and Brightcore while cave diving, and then you can craft Copper Bars with the following recipe:

---|---|---|---|
1x Copper | |||
2x Any Wood |
