Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is at its best when Indy is in his natural environment: old, decrepit tombs. Some of its best puzzles and mysteries can be found off the beaten path or underground in a long-forgotten crypt, and the Elephant in the Room mystery is no exception.
6:08If you're having trouble finding where this mystery starts, or you can't quite solve this elephant-sized puzzle on your own, this guide has you covered. You wouldn't want to be held up by a tricky puzzle, after all.
You'll find this mystery in the far back corner of Voss's Camp, near the location of the Royal Army Disguise, and behind the building where the A Game of Wits mystery is found. Just past the large green tent, you'll find a staircase leading down towards the left. There are two enemies here standing under a white tent that will ignore you if you're wearing the Royal Army Disguise. Take a picture of the Elephant Statue and head inside where the Elephant in the Room mystery awaits.
To begin the quest, take a picture of the Buddhist Statue.
To solve this puzzle you'll need to find three elephant statuettes and place them into the three slots underneath the Buddhist statue. There are a series of platforms that open and Close different doors in this shrine, so you'll need to move your available statuettes around a lot to find the solution.
To start, take your lighter over to the left and burn the false wall. Your first elephant statuette is behind it. Bring this statue over to the Buddhist statue and place it in the slot on the right. This will open a secret door to another pedestal on the statues right.
Next, grab the second statuette out of the cubby on the right wall. Place this one on the newly revealed pedestal on the wall to the right of the Buddist statue. This will open up the left slot underneath the Buddhist statue.
Next, you need to take the first statuette out of the right slot under the Buddhist statue and move it to the left slot. This will open a secret passageway on the left side of the statue.
Inside the secret passageway, grab the Rebel Journal on the ground near the entrance. It turns out the rebels were using these ruins as a hideout before the General invited Voss and the Nazis in.
At the end of this room, you'll find a map to the Sukhothai Relics.
Next, turn the corner and you'll find a broken staircase against the left wall. Ascend as high as you can, and then look straight up to find a grapple point. If you get a bit of a running start and jump, you can throw your whip at the height of your jump and latch onto this grapple point. Climb your rope about halfway, then swing and jump onto the ledge ahead of you. You'll find the third elephant at the top.
Now, you can leave this secret passageway, but before you do, make a note of the pedestal on the left as you exit. Placing a statuette here will reveal the middle pedestal under the Buddhist statue in the main room.
Now it's time to juggle the statuettes until you get all three onto the three pedestals. Here are the steps to get all three into position.
With all three elephant statutes in position, another secret passageway will open on the righthand wall. Take a picture of the Elephant Skeleton here to complete the mystery. Before you leave, feel free to grab the shotgun or dynamite if you'd like to get some payback on the fascists waiting outside.
