Fantasian Neo Dimension: Shangri-La Walkthrough

From changing the weather to gathering up rope just to climb down cliffs, Shangri-La has plenty of challenges for you. Learning how to navigate it and use the weather at the same time is a hefty challenge, and we're here to guide you through it.

Where To Find Shangri-La

Fantasian Neo Dimension: Shangri-La Walkthrough

Being a land of ancient civilizations and forgotten technology, Shangri-La is a bit out of the way. It is found in the northernmost section of the map, past the wall of Mechteria. That means you need to first complete Echoes of the Sandsea so you can get past this wall blocking you.

Once you've completed that quest, you can sail right past and head to the east to find Shangri-La sat by the coast. Not so hidden as you might expect for a supposedly forgotten ancient society. It is quite high level though, so be prepared for some powerful enemies.

Many chests here are locked with God Keys, which are found by defeating Key Orblings here.

, Navigating Shangri-La , , , Bridge To The City ,

From when you enter Shangri-La, you are treated to a beautiful horizon. Make sure you look around thoroughly first because

there is a key item here you will need later

, and you don't want to risk the confusion of Fantasian Neo Dimension: Shangri-La Walkthrough it later.

After entering, go to the right immediately to find a sneaky little corner hidden away. Here you will find some Durable Ivy by the tree, and Order Motes in a chest. Head north now towards the cliff and weave down it, finding another piece of Durable Ivy.

Place it and climb down, finding an Amethyst S at the end of the hill. Go forward to see a cutscene with the large dodecahedron, and the weather will turn to a Thunderstorm. As the game informs you, Lightning attacks now deal much more damage.

Head down the southern steps to find a Garnet M, a Sapphire S, and the Light of Judgment in the locked chest. Head up the steps now to find a Ruby L, and an SP Capsule in the chest.

Next, go to the raised steps to find an Amber XL in the chest, then go down the steps on the opposite side of the dodecahedron. Along here you will find Chaos Clay, an Amber M, and more Chaos Clay. With all that found, approach the Earth-coloured enemy.

This fight is pretty simple, though a tutorial for how the rest of Shangri-La works, Due to the Thunderstorm, your Lightning attacks deal an unbelievable amount of damage, while the enemies are barely making a scratch even with boosted attack. Once they're defeated, the weather returns to normal and you can proceed to the Fallen City.

Fallen City

Fantasian Neo Dimension: Shangri-La Walkthrough

Here, you are greeted with another dodecahedron this time with the elements fire, ice, lightning, and earth. This lets you change the element of the area (and it's entire look) to the chosen element. For example, choosing ice will cover the area in snow, boosting the power of ice attacks and making fire obscenely weak. So let's get started exploring. This is a bit complicated.

First off, take the stairs down from the Save Point back to the previous area to find a chest with two Order Motes, then head back to the Fallen City and go to the left. There will be some Durable Ivy resting on the tree here. You'll notice an ice forcefield ahead of you. Head back to the dodecahedron and change the weather to Blizzard.

Proceed past the previous forcefield, ignoring any enemies along the way. You don't want to attack any enemies with the same element right now as they will easily defeat you. Head all the way around until you reach a small stump on a cliff above the dodecahedron. Place a Durable Ivy here so you can access the area regardless of weather.

Back at the dodecahedron, change the weather to Heat Wave, and pick up the Garnet XL from the previously sealed chest. Next, head to the ice enemy you saw before and defeat them, picking up a Pearl XL and Alexandrite from the chests behind them. Now head back and change the weather to Sandstorm.

Proceed across the bridge from the earlier ice area and cross it, finding a Durable Ivy beside a tree and a Lightning forcefield. Head further to the right of this and place that Durable Ivy on the stump. There will be a fire enemy here, so change the weather to Blizzard before fighting them. The chests here contain two Chaos Clay and Deus Augite, and another piece of Durable Ivy.

Change the weather to Thunderstorm now and return to that last Lightning forcefield, and head through. There will be a Ruby XL in the chest. Head further up to reach the Altar, which is a Warp Point. This is where the final Cinderella Tri-Stars battle occurs if you have all their badges.

Be careful not to approach to close to the Altar as it will reset the weather back to normal.

Place a Durable Ivy on the stump here and climb down to defeat the Earth enemy. After defeating them, there will be another stump you can place a Durable Ivy on to climb down. Warp back to the dodecahedron first, set the weather to Sandstorm, then warp to the Altar. Climb down the stairs first to find a Blue Quartz in the chest, and then climb down the Durable Ivy to defeat the Lightning enemy.

You will find a Fairy Rod in the chest they were protecting. After this, go back to the Altar to reset the weather, and proceed west from that last enemy to find a series of elemental enemies. This is actually a horde battle against 200 enemies, so save the game first as it will take quite a while. After that, you're free to proceed to the Sanctum.

How To Beat The Guardian

Before we scale the steps to fight the Guardian, explore the area first for some items. In the large open area, you can find two SP Capsules, a Valiant Belt, and a Sapphire XL

.

Head up the stairs on the left to find Durable Ivy resting by a tree, and right of the Save Point to find another by a tree near the cliff edge. .Use this Ivy to climb down to a pair of two chests, which contain the Colossal Blade and Siegfried. Another stump is found just across from that, which leads to an Amethyst XL

. Now we're ready to face the Guardian.

The fight is built around the same gimmick that the rest of Shangri-La was - changing the weather. Make sure your party had plenty of jewels equipped that give you high defense and attack power

, but you don't really have much else to worry about here. The Guardian doesn't bother to weaken you to any elements, so this is a fairly straightforward battle.

For the first few turns, you're going to die until you gain the ability to change the weather. Use these turns to Analyse the boss and set up some buffs across the party. Having Resurrection on Kina

really helps for these first few turns. After a while, they will jump away, revealing the sigil that lets them change the weather.

The process here is simple, you hit the sigil with the opposite element it is

. So if it is fire, you hit it with ice to change the weather to Blizzard. The timing of this is important though.<script> window.adsNinja = window.adsNinja || {}; window.adsNinja.queue = window.adsNinja.queue || []; window.adsNinja.queue.push(function(){ window.adsNinja.queue.push(function(){ var fallbackContent = ` <video> <source src='https://video.thegamerimages.com/2024/12/fantasian-neo-dimension-guardian-boss-battle-made-with-clipchamp-1734188892.mp4' type='video/mp4'> Your browser does not support the video tag. `; try{ var result = window.adsNinja.monetizeVideo('.emaki-video-player-2277010b3d03590d', JSON.parse(`{\"name\":\"Instream-InContent\",\"groupName\":\"content\"}`), JSON.parse(`{\"trackingId\":\"in-content\",\"playlist\":[{\"title\":\"Fantasian Neo Dimension Guardian Boss Battle\",\"description\":\"\",\"length\":\"4:07\",\"mimeType\":\"video\/mp4\",\"url\":\"https:\/\/video.thegamerimages.com\/2024\/12\/fantasian-neo-dimension-guardian-boss-battle-made-with-clipchamp-1734188892.mp4\",\"thumbnailLink\":\"https:\/\/static1.thegamerimages.com\/wordpress\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/wm\/2024\/12\/20241210220105_1.jpg?fit=crop&w=1024&h=576\",\"textTracks\":[{\"kind\":\"subtitles\",\"label\":\"English\",\"language\":\"en\",\"url\":\"https:\/\/video.thegamerimages.com\/2024\/12\/fantasian-neo-dimension-guardian-boss-battle-made-with-clipchamp-1734188892-1734189917.vtt\",\"default\":false}]}]}`)); if(!result){ console.warn('Failed to load AdsNinja video player.'); document.getElementById('emaki-video-player-2277010b3d03590d').innerHTML = fallbackContent; } } catch(error){ console.warn('Failed to load AdsNinja video player.'); document.getElementById('emaki-video-player-2277010b3d03590d').innerHTML = fallbackContent; } }); }); </script>

The Guardian has a move called Heaven Piercing Howl. This changes the weather and his elemental affinity. You want to change the weather to the opposite of his own element, changing the weather but not his own affinity. Then you can assail him with your most powerful attacks.

Only arcing and area-of-effect attacks can hit the sigil, so use Ez's grenades to change it to fire.

This is all there is to the fight. With the help of the weather, you'll have the boss' 500,000 HP whittled away in no time. With them defeated, you will gain Another Dimengeon. This allows you to access the Void Realm, a series of ultra-hard boss battles that are really best saved until New Game Plus.
