Once you reach the frigid peaks of the Mountain in Luma Island, you'll have all sorts of new materials to find, enemies to face, more mysterious ruins, and another locked shrine. Some of the Offering Crystals will be easy to find, and the most you'll have to deal with are mischievous crows throwing snowballs at you.
For the others? You've got a long journey ahead of you. The mountain itself is a dangerous place, full of old magic and natural obstacles that don't care whether they hurt you, and there's no avoiding it and skipping the crystals found there. If you want another Luma to help you out, you'll need to get into the Mountain Shrine.
In the Mountain Region, you'll have more Offering Crystals to find, but you'll only be able to get eight, the exact number needed to open the shrine's doors, so there are no extras in case you miss one.
Be careful while looking for the crystals on the southern half of the Mountain, as a bear wanders the paths during the day, and it can kill you in a single hit.
A few of them can be found in the southern half, but most of them are in the northern half, and a handful of them require you to at least partially climb the mountain that makes up most of the region.
Mountain Offering Crystal |
How To Find It |
|
---|---|---|
Crystal 1 |
Crystal 2 | Head to the northeastern edge of the area and smash the crate next to the tent at the campsite. Walk down the Slope and the Crystal is at the end of the path. |
Crystal 3 |
Follow the path from the entrance to the northwest until you reach the two lakes with Ice Eels in them. Go around the smaller, round one and then head directly north from it to the cliff. Look for a small path under a group of large rocks, go through it, and you'll find the Crystal in a small alcove. | |
Crystal 4 |
Head to the northern edge of the region, past the unfinished cap in the northeastern corner and the Ruined Mountain Temple. Walk onto the cliff where you can find one of the Braziers for the temple, and break the group of large rocks at the edge. Go down the slope behind them, and the Crystal is at the end of the path. | |
Crystal 5 |
Head to the northeast, following the path around to the northwestern end of the region, until you reach a small river with a waterfall that you can cross over. Go up the slope on the left side of the waterfall, and go through the small opening in the wall there. Follow it behind the waterfall, and the Crystal is at the end of the path. | |
Crystal 6 |
Go to the northwestern corner of the map, past the river with the waterfall, and onto the cliff at the edge of the map. Walk down the slope at the very end, and follow it down and around to a small ledge where the Crystal is. | |
Crystal 7 |
From the entrance to the mountain at the northwestern end of the region, follow the path up the mountain, avoiding obstacles like the giant snowballs, repairing the scaffolding near ledges, and the occasional Snowstorm Prism section. | |
Crystal 8 |
Near the top of the mountain, go past the lakes with Frostfang in them, and avoid the sections of giant snowballs. Eventually, you'll come to an area with a hill with a bridge leading to a cave, and the entrance to the Forsaken Mountain Temple. |
Like with the Tepid Offering Crystals and the Forest Offering Crystals, the Mountain Offering Crystals you've collected need to be brought to their corresponding shrine.
This time, you can find the Mountain Shrine right away. It's at the western end of the area, and you can follow the path northwest from the Cable Car to reach it without needing to unlock any additional areas or unblock a path to it.
At the shrine, insert a Mountain Offering Crystal into each of the Eight empty Mountain Offering Pedestals surrounding the entrance, and the doors will open.
Inside you'll find a Purple Chest on the left, which always contains one Mountain Jewelry in this region, an Ancient Book on the right, and an Orange Chest in the center that contains a Luma Egg.
