The chaotic battlefields of Marvel Rivals show that heroes can come in all shapes and sizes, from muscular avengers to wiry sharpshooters. Some manipulate the energy of the universe, while others talk to squirrels. Sometimes, what appears to be one hero is actually two: a pair of fate-Bound individuals who fight as one to save their city – and now, the multiverse.
Cloak and Dagger – aka Tyrone and Tandy – are a pair of runaway teens infused with the powers of darkness and light after an experiment gone wrong, determined to keep their own powers in check while helping those around them. If you want a “healer” that is mechanically simple but strategically demanding, Cloak and Dagger might just be the character for you.
Cloak and Dagger are classified as Strategists, meaning that their primary role is to support your team with healing and defensive abilities. But don’t let that fool you into thinking that you must play passively; Cloak’s abilities in particular can help you mop up weakened enemies with ease or set up your team’s Duelists to get some quick KO’s.

Basic Attack: Lightforce Dagger | Tandy shoots a homing dagger of light that targets the closest enemy (or ally) to the crosshair when fired. If it hits an enemy, it damages them, and if it hits an ally, it heals them and everyone near them. The further away an ally is from the target, the less healing they get. |
Dagger Storm | Tandy fires a cluster of light daggers at the ground, creating a sphere of light that heals allies within it for the duration. An easy way to keep your team healthy, even after switching to Cloak. |
Veil of Lightforce | Tandy projects a wall of Lightforce Energy that passes through characters, healing allies and giving them a Healing Boost – this means that any other healing they receive for the duration is increased, making the job of your team’s Strategists a little bit easier. |
Shadow’s Embrace | Switch from Dagger to Cloak. |
Cloak |

---|---|
Basic Attack: Darkforce Cloak |
Tyrone extends his Darkforce Energy, automatically damaging the enemy closest to his crosshair. This attack has a limited range, but very consistent damage and infinite ammunition. |
Dark Teleportation |
Tyrone pulls himself (and any nearby allies) into the Darkforce Dimension, making them Invisible, un-targetable, immune to damage, and giving them a speed boost for a brief duration. While Dark Teleportation is active, Cloak has limited flight. |
Terror Cape |
Tyrone projects a wall of Darkforce Energy that passes through characters, briefly Blinding enemies, damaging them, and making them Vulnerable – increasing any damage they take for the duration. This will allow your Duelists to pile on the hurt while minimizing the damage your enemies can do to you. |
Light’s Embrace |

Ultimate: Eternal Bond |
Cloak and Dagger combine their powers, dashing across the battlefield up to three times while leaving a trail of energy behind them. Enemies who enter the trail are damaged, while allies who enter the trail are healed. |
Team-Up: From Shadow to Light |
Cloak and Dagger empower Moon Knight, giving him the ability to create a Light and Dark Realm where he is Invisible. While on a team with Moon Knight, Cloak and Dagger gain a passive Healing Boost on all their abilities. |
Cloak and Dagger are two highly unique individuals, but there’s no denying that they make a powerful duo. You’ll want to use Dagger’s healing powers to keep your team healthy from a moderate distance, before switching to Cloak to press the advantage and quickly take out weakened targets with his Darkforce Cloak and Terror Cape.
Cloak and Dagger work best with teams that like to stay grouped up, brawling on the front lines where Dagger’s AoE healing can reach multiple targets. When possible, you’ll want to pair up with a Vanguard like Hulk or Magneto who can cover for your lack of defenses and self-healing.

Mantis | Mantis' damage boosts can help your team take advantage of Terror Cape, while your Dark Teleportation can cover for her lack of defensive abilities. Her Ultimate, Soul Resurgence, can also keep the rest of the team healthy while you deal damage as Cloak. | ||||||
Jeff the Land Shark | Jeff works in most teams, but his long-range healing and health pack-like bubbles provide consistent healing as you swap forms and juggle cooldowns. |

Winter Soldier |
A deadly combatant at medium-to-close range, Winter Soldier can quickly finish off enemies you weaken with Terror Cloak or soften up with your Basic Attacks. |
Magik |
Magik's teleportation abilities and dash attacks can make her a difficult target for other Strategists to heal. Thankfully, your healing powers either affect a large area, or home in on their targets, so you can keep her healthy while she wields her Soulsword to devastating effect. |
Vanguards |

Hulk |
Cloak and Dagger fare surprisingly well in aggressive, fast-moving teams due to their auto-targeting heals, and Hulk's at-will mobility allows him to leap to the duo's defense if they get targeted. His Indestructible Guard can also protect Cloak and Dagger at crucial moments, which will allow you to heal your team in turn. |
Magneto |
The Master of Magnetism has a plethora of defensive tools, making him great at protecting the more vulnerable Strategists and Duelists on his team. Even his Ultimate, Meteor M, can absorb projectiles to give you the time you need to support the team. |
Doctor Strange |
Doctor Strange's massive Shield of the Seraphim can keep you safe from enemy attacks while your healing attacks home in on him, regardless of whether he is currently on the ground or in the sky. |
While their basic attacks and abilities may be fairly forgiving, careful cooldown management will make the difference between good Cloak and Dagger players and great ones.
You can see the cooldowns of the character you aren’t playing right above your current character’s abilities. With practice, you’ll know when to switch characters to get maximum value out of everything Cloak and Dagger have to offer.
A powerful tool for both offense and defense, Eternal Bond is best used when everyone – ally and enemy alike – are grouped up, likely in the middle of the objective. You can use it to shut off an enemy escape route, deter your enemies from chasing down wounded allies, or simply provide your team with constant, passive healing across a wide area, allowing the Strategists (yourself included) to focus on bringing down the enemy team.
