Goku has had many companions throughout his entire life in the Dragon Ball series. Many of them are powerful fighters that pushed him to his limits as well as helped shatter those limits. Fans, however, will never forget the first time he’s ever transformed into the golden-haired Super Saiyan, thanks to none other than his marshmallow-headed best friend, Krillin.

, but that doesn’t stop him from trying his luck against any foe he faces. This guide will walk you through his entire kit, including combos, skills, and special moves.

Spread Energy Wave |
R2/RT Ki Button | 3 Ki Gauges | Fire a beam that rises right before hitting the opponent to instead rain down a volley of unblockable blasts, dealing moderate damage per hit. |
Chain Destructo Disc |
R2/RT Perception Button | Sparking Mode | Fire a barrage of discs, dealing major damage if they all connect. The final hit from Chain Destructo Disc is unblockable. |
Krillin's stats aren't much to look at, unfortunately. With his low stats, his DP cost is also extremely low, sitting at a meager three points. This will at least allow for stronger allies when building a team, though don't assume he is completely useless.
Krillin has access to a very useful set of abilities that work both in offensive and defensive playstyles. Solar Flare will blind opponents who are playing hyper-aggressive, leaving them wide open to any of your follow-up attacks for a few seconds. Afterimage Strike is also a very effective defensive tool, capable of negating any melee attack thrown by the opponent for 15 whole seconds.
<script> googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('adsninja-ad-unit-1707942439796-6115d5692e6734'); }); </script> Strike should be used preemptively before engaging to maximize its use.

Charging the Kamehameha will increase its damage the longer it's held, though this is unsafe if done in neutral.
Spread Energy Wave, unfortunately, has no use during a combo and is much better used as a ranged poking tool.
Solar Flare can be used to almost always guarantee a fully charged Kamehameha or Spread Energy Wave, as the opponent will be unable to defend against something they can't see.
While in Sparking Mode, deal as much damage as you can with the increased combo damage before ending with the Chain Destructo Disc.
It is possible to chain a Kamehameha into a Chain Destructo Disc, though you'll need to be quick to activate it.
