If you talk to the locals and the Talking Stones dotted around the land in Luma Island, you'll find out some interesting facts about its history. Ancient civilizations used to inhabit the island, it was visited by pirates on multiple occasions, and it used to be home to magic creatures called Luma.
Your first hint about this is usually the Ancient Farm Temple near your home, but it isn't the only mysterious location you can visit and explore. Another massive temple sits by the entrance to the Forest, but you won't get its doors open unless you unlock it with the Forgotten Tablets.
After you repair the town bridge and gain access to the Forest, follow the path to the north, and you'll quickly reach a mountainous area covered in ruins and a temple by the rock wall.
To open the temple, you'll need three key items: Forgotten Tablet A, Forgotten Tablet B, and Forgotten Tablet C. For the first Forgotten Tablet, you have to find the Overgrown Forest Temple, which is located on the western side of the Forest.
Follow the path across the first gap and over to the canyon that separates the western and eastern sides of the Forest, then go down the path that wraps around the cliff.
At the end of the path, you'll find the Overgrown Forest Temple, which has two Empty Offering Braziers on each side of the entrance archway.
If you're visiting the temple at night, Ghosts will spawn near the doorway and along the path toward it, but they can easily be killed in a few hits with an upgraded Whip.
Each one needs three Forest Stones and one Forest Resin put into it, and as soon as both are lit up, the door to the Overgrown Forest Temple will open.

Room 1 |
Exit through the doorway. |
Room 2 |
Introduces a new trap: the rolling saw. Run past the saw once it passes and keep close to the wall, kill the Bat, and then run past the next one to the exit. |
Room 3 |
Exit through the doorway. |
Room 4 |
Introduces the new trap: the wall saw. Run past both sets while they're paused, then watch out for the falling rock trap tile by the doorway. |
Room 5 |
Run past the set of three wall saws while keeping close to the right wall as soon as they disappear. Kill the two Bats at the bottom of the stairs, then grab the two chests and the Ancient Book. |
Room 6 |
Go to the fire-breathing statue on the left and rotate it until it faces to the right, then walk past it and rotate the other statue until it faces upwards. Walk around to the other side, rotate the first fire-breathing statue so it faces to the right, then rotate the other so it faces the wall. |
Room 7 |
Wait until the sets of rolling saws move to the right, then run diagonally across, hugging the left wall until you reach the safe zone. Wait until the next set goes to the right, then go up to the next safe zone along the wall, then run to the door when they go to the left. |
Room 8 |
Approach the bridge but wait and let the Bat near the middle fly over to you so you can kill it safely, then run past the three wall saws on each side once they're paused. |
Room 9 |
Grab Forgotten Tablet A from the ground, then go up the stairs and open the Orange Chest to get a Luma Egg and various materials. |
To get to the second Forest Temple, you'll need to gain access to the eastern side of the Forest. Go to the left side of the lake on the western side, and you'll find an entrance to the Hidden Forest Caves at the edge of the water, near the path and a ruined building.
Head through it and the exit will put you on the other side of the river. From there, you can take the path back west and knock over the tree log so you have a permanent path between the two areas, but the temple you need is located at the northern end of the area.
Watch out for the new Leech Nest enemies as you follow the path towards the north, and you'll come to a mountainous area with a lot of rocks and ruins around it, and a closed temple entrance.
Like the other Forest temples, Ghosts will spawn in the ruins and near the doorway if you visit it at night.
To get this temple's entrance open, you'll need to locate the two gem-topped pillars on each side of the ruins and rotate them until a beam of light appears and points to the plate above the doorway.
When the two are in the correct position, the entrance to the Deserted Forest Temple will open up, and you're free to go inside.

Room 3 | Introduces a new trap: rolling saws. Wait for the center saw to go back up, then follow long enough to lure the Bat to the safe zone so you can kill it. Run up the left or right side, dodging the falling rock trap spots, and swap paths if a saw approaches you until you reach the safe zone. |
Room 4 |
Introduces a new enemy, the Toxic Mushroom, that releases an AOE poison cloud that does damage and makes you drop a few items. Kill it, then rotate both fire-breathing statues so their flames point upwards. Wait and follow the spikes as they go up until you reach the safe zone.

Room 6 |
Kill the Toxic Mushroom, then grab the Ancient Book off the ground. Wait for the second row of spikes to disappear, then run to the center as the inner spikes disappear. Wait for the outer spikes to disappear, then run to the right to reach the safe zone.
Room 7 |
Head onto the right rectangle first, break the web, and pass by the saw trap once it's out of the way. Go down and rotate the fire-breathing statue so it faces the pit, then return to the start. Go to the middle rectangle, run around the left side, then go around and rotate the fire-breathing statue so it faces the wall.
Room 8 |
Wait for the saw on either side to go up to the top and follow them to the safe zone on the wall. Wait for it to go down again, then cross over and quickly rotate the fire-breathing statue so it faces the wall. Go back to the start and repeat the process on the other side, then exit.
Room 9 |
Lure the three Bats close to the entrance and kill them, then take out the Toxic Mushroom once you don’t have to worry about the Bats, and break the Spider Web blocking the exit door.
Room 10 |
Wait until the spikes are down, then run to the first safe zone on the right. Wait until you can run to the middle safe zone, grab the chest, and then wait, and run to the final safe zone. Kill the Bat near the exit door.
Room 11 |
Grab the Forgotten Tablet B off the ground, loot the barrels and vases, and then open the Orange Chest for another Luma Egg and various materials. |
For the third temple, you'll need to get to the eastern side of the Forest, and this is done by going through the Hidden Forest Cave, located on the left edge of the lake on the western side.
Follow the main path towards the east and cross the quicksand-filled zone using the rocks and floating wood platforms dotted through it until you reach an area with a cave entrance near where the quicksand ends.
Keep going east, then take the path going north once you see the Forest Shrine, then once you hit the cliff, follow the path southeast past several Toxic Mushrooms, and you'll reach the third temple.
Like the others, you'll have a small puzzle to complete to get the door open, and this time you'll need to hit two switches within a certain amount of time.
Hit the switch next to the pillar and mushroom first, then run past the temple to the switch at the bottom of the hill, and hit it second to open the door to the Hidden Forest Temple.

Room 8 |
Run behind the spikes on the right side of the room as they disappear until you reach a Spider Web, then quickly swap to the left side and go to the safe zone. Avoid the falling rock traps, and exit through the door. |
Room 9 |
Cross over the invisible floor to the other side, grab the Ancient Book off the floor, avoid the two falling rock traps, and then exit through the door. |

Go to the left side of the room, break the Forest Rock so you can access the western statue, and turn it so it faces the pillar. Break the Spider Web blocking the left set of stairs, and follow the path around and up the stairs. Kill the Toxic Mushroom, then go around to the back of the next fire-breathing statue, and turn it so it faces the pillar. |
Room 1 (Part 2) |
Pick up Forgotten Tablet C off the floor, break all the barrels and vases, and open the Orange Chest to receive some loot and another Luma Egg. |
When you have all three Forgotten Tablets in your possession, return to the large temple near the entrance to the Forest, and interact with the doorway to insert them.
Go inside the door once it's unlocked, and you'll find yourself in the Ancient Forest Temple. Go down the long stairway to the bottom of the temple, and the Ancient Grove Key will be sitting beneath the tree on the central platform, alongside two Purple Chests.
