A hoard of six gold staters struck by the Dobunnic ruler Boduoc has been disclaimed and will now be sold at auction.
The coins, dating to between 5 BC and 10 AD, were found by metal detectorists near Standlake in 2023 and were declared treasure.
They were recorded with the Portable Antiquities Scheme and Celtic Coin Index before being disclaimed and returned to the finders and landowner.

This gives private collectors a rare opportunity to secure a high grade rarity from the Ancient British inscribed coinage series.
The coins will be offered for sale by auction ending at 5pm on Saturday, December 14, with bidding available through coin dealer Silbury Coins, live on their website, by email or via post.
Ancient coin specialists Silbury Coins are based in Cirencester in neighbouring Gloucestershire and have been handling coins like these for 25 years.

Photographs show the rare golden coins to be in great condition with their imprints still visible.
