“Remix: The Prelude” is Fortnite’s next live event on Friday, November 1. It will kick off Fortnite’s return to the Chapter 2 island with some “splashes of content from the earliest seasons,” according to developer Epic Games.
The event will likely mark the end of Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 and kick off the next season, rumored to begin on November 2.
Here’s everything we know about Fortnite’s Remix: The Prelude live event so far, and what time the live event begins in your time zone.

Fortnite’s “Remix: The Prelude” live event starts on Friday, November 1, at the following times:
You can also check out the countdown to “Remix: The Prelude” in the lobby or in-game at Restored Reels.
Matchmaking for modes made by Epic — including Battle Royale and Zero Build — usually go offline two hours before a live event, paving the way for the event itself to take center stage.
Based on previous live events, you should be able to join the “Remix: The Prelude” event itself 30 minutes before it begins — at 6 p.m. EST, or your local equivalent — which we’d recommend doing in case capacity is limited, as has been the case with Fortnite events in the past.
Update (Nov. 1, 11:45 a.m. ET): Epic-partnered leaker @ShiinaBR reports that Epic is recommending you log in to Fortnite as early as you can — even hours before the event. You’ll be able to view The Prelude at Restored Reels in both Battle Royale and Zero Build, and you won’t be able to eliminate other players during the event (which will contain copyrighted sound).
Epic itself has been pretty tight-lipped about what’s coming, but has teased a big change coming with the inclusion of a rift butterfly in the promotional videos and now on its official X feed.
In-game, we’re starting to see some hints of what the event will offer. As of Oct. 31 — the day before the live event — a rift beacon has more or less taken over the screen at the event’s starting point at Restored Reels, as shown by Shiina on X.
There are rumors and speculation that the live event could be a performance by Marshmello, who hosted Fortnite’s first live event back in 2019. There have also been some suggesting that it could be a performance by none other than Snoop Dogg.
Whatever the event is, it’s expected to be played on the screen in Restored Reels once the event starts and that rift beacon activates.
As for the Remix season itself, developer Epic Games co-founder Mark Rein says one word to describe it is: “Enjoy.” Cryptic!
