After dreaming about an old case, Sonny reluctantly accepts a new one after questioning a mysterious woman who visits his home. In the first chapter of Chicken Police: Into The Hive!, you’ll follow Sonny and his partner Marty as they set off to search for the missing husband of this insect woman, unveiling only the beginning of a series of interconnected and mysterious events.
Of course, embarking on this adventure isn’t that simple—you’ll need certain permits to enter The Hive, a rather dangerous part of town. If you're ready to solve the mysteries, this guide will be your companion along the way.
Sonny will find himself at a crime scene, where you’ll have a conversation with Bubo. After this dialogue, you’ll be able to examine the scene. If you talk to Bubo once and ask him, 'What’s Up Doc?', you’ll get a codex entry.
Next, click on the Dead Fly lying on the ground. Behind third evidence marker inside the red car, you’ll find a pin-up calendar image. There are a total of 12 of these hidden collectibles in the game.
To progress the story, you’ll need to pick up the torn insect arm lying beside the dead body on the ground. This will be added to your inventory. Use this arm on Bubo, which will conclude Sonny’s dream about the old case.
After Sonny wakes up from his dream, a mysterious woman will come to his house. After your dialogue with her, you’ll receive your first task, 'Who Is The Stranger?'.
First, click on the sofa on the right side of Sonny’s apartment. Among the newspapers on the left, you’ll find another pin-up calendar image.
Additionally, before talking to the Strange Woman, if you click on the globe on Sonny’s desk (The Wilderness), you’ll get two more codex entries. Don’t forget to click on the gun on the left side of the desk to add it to your inventory.
Now you can start your conversation with the Strange Woman. She’ll tell you that her husband is missing. The 'Who Is The Strange' task will be completed, and you’ll be able to question her. Before questioning her, if you go through all the dialogue options, you’ll receive a codex entry.
In the game, you’ll be questioning some characters. Your choices in these interrogations can give you positive or negative points, or no points at all. These points represent your approach as either a good or bad cop. If you get the gauge in the interrogation bar within the yellow sections, the interrogation will be successful.
If you get the gauge to the very end or very beginning of the yellow bar, you’ll earn five stars. This is required for the 'Nice work, partner' and 'Hardboiled Legend' achievements. Remember, if you fail an interrogation, you can retry it, or if you didn’t get five stars, you can try again to earn them.
Here’s how much each line you choose during the interrogation will score you:

If you get five stars on your interrogation, you’ll receive a significant amount of codex entries, along with the 'Trouble In Roachtown' and 'Marty MacChicken' tasks. Additionally, the 'Phone Numbers' item will be added to your inventory.
If you inspect it, you’ll find Marty’s number, 555-432. Use the phone on your desk to call this number. Marty won’t answer, which will add the Police PD’s number, 555-111, to the phone numbers. Now call that number. After the cutscene, Sonny will head out to meet Marty.
When you arrive at Marty’s, you’ll find him drunk and in an argument with his wife. You won’t be able to engage in any dialogue with Marty. So, pick up the Vectra Ball lying on the ground to Marty’s right, and use it on him to get his attention. However, you still won’t be able to talk to him. Click on the trunk of your car on the left to add a flask to your inventory.
Use this flask on Marty, and he’ll sober up, completing the 'Marty MacChicken' task. Now you can head to Clawville Police Dept, which has been added to your map. After talking with Marty in front of the Police Dept, you’ll receive the 'Get An Aspirin For Marty' and 'Permission For Hive Entry' tasks. Click on the Memorial outside the building to get a codex entry.
Enter the department building, where you’ll encounter Moses & Pluto. After talking to them, speak with Moses again, and he’ll tell you that Monica is in the Shooting Range. If you talk to Moses one more time, you’ll receive the 'Moses And Plato’s Secret Mission' task.
You can also ask them about their secret mission, though they won’t give you the answer you’re looking for. There’s nothing else to do in the main hall except head to the Shooting Range on the right side.
When you first see Monica, you’ll receive the 'What’s Up With Monica' task. Completing this task will unlock the secret ending of the game.
First, exhaust all of Monica’s dialogue options. Then, ask her about Marty’s headache. Afterward, ask her about the 'around the world' topic, and then ask about the permission. For the permission required to go to the Hive, you’ll need the witness of other detectives, so you’ll need to speak with Moses.
By playing the shooting mini-game in the Shooting Range, you can earn two achievements: if you score 5,000 points, you’ll get the 'Sharpshooter' achievement; if you score 10,000 points, you’ll get the 'Dead Eye Joe' achievement.
First, ask Moses about the permission. If you also ask him about the Hive, you’ll get two codex entries. Afterwards, talk to Monica and ask her about 'The Papers.' She’ll give you an Unsigned Permission. Use this item on Moses from your inventory.
This will update the item to Signed Permission. Some new locations will now open on your map: Zipp’s Café and Hive’s Graveyard. Sonny’s Flat will also be unlocked again. Before going anywhere, if you ask Monica about Aspirin, it will complete the 'Get An Aspirin For Marty' task.
Also, make sure to ask if everything’s okay with her; this is important for the secret ending. If you ask her about Bloodboyle, you’ll receive a codex entry.
If you visit Sonny’s Flat before going to the cemetery and interact with objects, you’ll obtain new codex entries because Marty is with you. Additionally, you’ll get a codex entry by speaking to Pip, the newsboy in front of Zipp’s Cafe.
Afterward, if you look down to the right in front of the cafe entrance, you’ll spot a book on the ground. Picking this up will give you a codex entry, and there’s a secret clue on the back of the book, which you can inspect. Once inside the cafe, examine the New Unity Church poster and ask Zipp about it to receive the ‘Secrets of the Church’ task.
After exhausting Zipp’s dialogues, he will mention he hasn’t seen Frank for a while. Additionally, ask him about the Missing Tail to receive the ‘A Strange Souvenir’ task. There’s no crucial information from Uncle Mullen, but you can still chat with him and play a mini-game if you ask about Clawville Wildcards.
For now, there’s nothing else to do at Zipp Café or Frank’s Place, so the only location left is Hive’s Graveyard. When you arrive at Hive’s Graveyard, you’ll be greeted by Uncle Joe. Before talking to him, click on the Gravesite on the left side of the area.
Click on the dug-up grave, and then click on the broken glass to the right. A mini-game will start where you need to piece together the glass fragments in a jigsaw-like puzzle.
Noir mode can make this game harder due to the colors, so feel free to turn it off to make it easier.
Once all pieces are joined, you’ll notice 'Distant Light' text and obtain the Piece of Bottle. Click on the Porch on the right side of the area, then, after finishing all dialogues with Uncle Joe and asking him everything, use the Piece of Bottle from your inventory on him.
Next, ask him about The Distant Light and leave his side, which will allow you to head to that location. After a long cutscene, you’ll arrive at the Distant Light.
Upon reaching the Distant Light, you won’t be able to enter immediately. Outside, you’ll find Calla and Hank the Doorman. When you ask Hank about access, he won’t let you in. Then, question Calla about Hank, which will activate the 'Lovebirds' task. Afterward, ask Hank about Calla to complete the 'Lovebirds' task, and the pair will disappear.
Before entering, click on the Goo above the building to gain a codex entry. Inside, talk to the Cockroach Goon on the right; he won’t let you pass. Head to the bar.
When approaching the bar, you’ll see a picture on the left wall. Among these is one of the pin-up calendar pictures.
Talk to Bart Ender, the bartender. Asking him about his lack of hands will grant you a codex entry. Exhaust his dialogues, then use the Piece of Bottle from your inventory on him. Next, talk to the Cockroach Goon and click a few times on the metal door behind him. Then, question Bart Ender about the metal door and, afterward, about the pianist.
Now, talk to Douglas, who’s on the left side of the bar. He’ll be asleep on his feet, so he won’t help you. Go back to Bart Ender and ask about Douglas. He’ll give you a Strong Drink, which you can use on Douglas to wake him up. Ask him about VIP access to receive the 'Lost Melodies' task. If you ask about the Queen, he’ll say you need to pass one of his games to get the secret password.
The drinking game requires some angle calculation skills. Failing this game grants you the 'Drunkard!' achievement.
If you want to play the Hive quiz, the answers are as follows:
|
Answer | ||||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
First Answer | Goo | ||||||||
Second Answer | Roachtown | ||||||||
Third Answer | Never had one. |
After winning one of Douglas’s games, you’ll receive the Password To The Queen in your items. Use this on the Cockroach Goon, then you can meet the Queen.
After exhausting the Queen’s dialogues, ask her about Douglas to get a clue for the 'Lost Melodies' task. Once you’ve asked all questions, you’ll be able to interrogate her.

Completing the interrogation will give you the tasks ‘Let’s Speak with Frank,’ ‘Zenaida’s Greatest Treasure,’ and ‘Like a Fortress.’ Filmar and Brutus will also enter the room.
Brutus doesn’t offer any new information, but exhausting Filmar’s dialogues will unlock the ‘Filmar’s Patron’ task. If you ask him about Zipp’s Tail, you’ll get a clue for the ‘A Strange Souvenir’ task and learn that Mick’s headquarters may hold more answers.
Head back upstairs, talk to Douglas again, and ask him about 'Just a Miracle' to realize that Bubo might be able to heal Douglas’s hands. There’s nothing else to do for now except head to Frank’s Place.
Upon reaching Frank’s Place, enter through the entrance. You’ll find Frank in his last moments, where he’ll mutter something about meat before he dies. Your goal now is to discover who killed Frank and why by searching his apartment. First, click on the Desk with stuff to pick up a letter.
If you inspect this letter in your inventory, you’ll find it’s a letter between Queen’s daughter Zelina and Frank, offering a clue for the 'Zenaida’s Greatest Treasure' task.
Returning to the Distant Light and giving this letter to the Queen, completes this task and earns you the ‘The Queen’s Quest’ achievement.
Look closely under the Desk with stuff to find one of the pin-up calendar pictures.
After investigating everything in Frank’s apartment, click on the sofa on the right with Frank’s body on it. After examining Frank’s body, Sonny and Marty will decide to visit Bubo’s Clinic, which will now be unlocked on your map. At Bubo’s Clinic, exhaust his dialogues and ask about M.E.A.T. to receive the ‘What is M.E.A.T.?’ task.
Ask about the 'Hands of Pianist', and he’ll offer to help Douglas. Now, return to the Distant Light and talk to Douglas about Dr. Bubo to send him off to get help. Additionally, ask the Queen at the Distant Light about the Forger of Bones, and you’ll just need to wait to complete the 'Lost Melodies' task. Head back to the clinic and ask Bubo about Frank to update your task.
If you use your Flask on Bubo, he’ll refill it, which may come in handy later.
Returning to Frank’s apartment, you’ll notice he’s no longer there. Check the sofa where Frank was previously standing and click on the stains to obtain the Golden Fang. Inspecting this will reveal a secret clue. Now, your only option is to return to Sonny’s Flat.
Once there, ask Marty about looking worried, then about the puzzle pieces. Now, all that’s left is to piece together the event timeline:
Sentence |
Photo |
|
---|---|---|
This lady contacted me... | ...about her missing husband. | Third photo (Strange Lady) |
Something is wrong at the cemetery... | ...they dug up dead. | Sixth photo (Uncle Joe) |
He got trouble with the wrong gang... | ...the Golden Fang Clan. | First photo (Mick) |
And in the end, he... | ...ended up dead. | Fifth photo (Frank) |
After connecting all the clues, find Lewis’s number, 555-932, in your Phone numbers inventory. Call him from the phone on your desk, and Sonny will ask him to arrange a room for Marty. This marks the end of First Chapter.
