Money is essential in Brighter Shores. You'll use it to buy new profession-related equipment, as well as material from a variety of vendors throughout the world. At the beginning of the game, you'll start with pretty much no money, but thankfully, you can get your hands on some relatively quickly.

Brighter Shores: How To Get Silver

In this guide, we are going to take a look at how to make more money in Brighter Shores. In total, you'll have two main currency types; silver and copper (which stacks into silver). Silver is worth more, so we'll be going over methods that can earn you silver rather than just a few pieces of copper.

Brighter Shores is currently in Early Access on Steam and as such, the content is subject to change. We will update these articles as required.

Sell Fish

Fishing is a great way to make money. You can fish with a Fishing Spear pretty much indefinitely as long as you have enough inventory space. We suggest fishing eels or pufferfish in the riverways south of the Town Square (the Eel Street Bridge and Wilhope Crossing).

Here, you can catch some eel and pufferfish, and then head to the fishmonger just south of the Eel Street Bridge in order to sell your catch. The trek here is pretty short from both fishing locations, allowing you to make the journey quickly.

Once you level up past the fishing spear, you'll be able to sell higher level fish to make even more silver, but this is a good way to gain silver early into the game.

Sell Equipment

After engaging in combat (to level up your Guard skill), you'll gain experience and have a chance to get a piece of equipment. There is a chance that the gear that drops is better than what you have on, but there is a high chance that it's just an average piece of gear that you don't need.

If this is the head, we highly recommend heading to the Quartermaster and selling your unused gear. This is another way that you can make money without putting any extra effort into it, as the gear comes from leveling your Guard skill in Hopeport.

Sell Cooked Dishes

Cooking is also another profession that you can take part in. Cooking with raw ingredients will boost their value, making the dish perfect to sell in order to make some money.

You may notice that some dishes require you to buy ingredients from a vendor (the NPC Kevin), but don't worry about this. If you plan on selling the dish, then you will end up making more money than you spent.

Even something as simple as an Omelette (made with eggs that can only be purchased from Kevin) will earn you more money than you spent.

Complete Chef's Bounties

Once you reach level nine of the Chef profession, you'll be able to complete Chef's Bounties. These are essentially food delivery quests for people in town. While you may need to find the ingredients, these mini-quests can reward a good amount of silver.

For example, we were given a bounty to deliver five Omelettes to the Enchantress. This simple quest just requires you to buy and cook eggs, but it rewarded us with 792 experience (for cooking) as well as 3 silver and 820 copper.

You can accept more than one bounty at a time so if you think you are able to, be sure to accept a few! The bounties on the Chef's Bounty Board rotate every once in a while, so if you've taken all four bounties displayed, just wait a bit.

Open Chests

From time to time, you may come across chests within buildings. These chests can be searched in order to earn a handful of copper. Looting one chest isn't too plentiful, but a room like the Barracks (found in the Training Grounds) has several chests.

Currently, chests also seem to reset after a few moments. This means that you can loot from a chest, wait a bit, and then loot from it again. This may be patched in the future, but for now, it functions like a simple infinite money method.

Defeat Enemies

Lastly, you can make some money by defeating enemies in the world. Above, we mentioned that enemies drop equipment from time to time. In addition to this, defeating an enemy will always yield some money.

This may not be the most amount of money early into the game, but if you plan on doing some farming to build up your Guard profession, then the money can really stack up.

Overall, grinding and selling or processing your loot is the best way to make money (especially silver) in Brighter Shores!
