X Empire's Airdrop Controversy Grips Telegram Players

A highly anticipated airdrop from X Empire has left millions of players feeling burned, sparking a wave of anger on social media that is even reaching Elon Musk, despite his lack of ties to the Telegram-based game.

X Empire, a tap-to-earn game on Telegram, is set to debut its X token on Thursday on The Open Network (TON). However, users have taken to Twitter to express their dissatisfaction with the release of airdrop allocations, claiming they were unfairly excluded from participating, Decrypt shares. Elon Musk is being informed about it by a few of them.

On Friday, X Empire announced the distribution of X tokens, telling users how many X tokens they can anticipate to get and how they will be traded starting on October 24. In addition to supporting self-custody TON wallets and centralized exchanges like OKX and Bybit, players of the Elon Musk-themed game can choose their withdrawal option in advance.

But many gamers vented their frustrations on social media, claiming that the airdrop had unfairly excluded them for reasons nobody could understand. Some players, who claimed to have played the game every day and invited a lot of friends, said they didn't get any airdrop at all. Others said they only received a small amount of tokens, despite playing the game for months and inviting dozens of friends.

On Saturday, game creator Alex Falcon addressed the concerns raised by players in a Telegram message, saying that among other things, "active friends" was the most essential criterion in determining the final airdrop amount, followed by profit-per-hour and quest completion.

"Everyone who truly invested time in X Empire gained access to the drop," he claimed.

According to Falcon, the airdrop will reach 6 million X Empire players. At one point, X Empire boasted having over 50 million players, and according to data from the Telegram app, there were approximately 34 million active users in the last month.

Some players feel the "active friends" aspect shouldn't have had such a big influence on the airdrop distributions. Even Musk, who has nothing to do with the game, has been the target of some players' tweets.

One gamer took to Twitter to complain about Musk, writing, "They rejected people, totally scam and unfair." Another asked Musk to "save us from this scam."

As of the time this article was written, Musk has not provided a response.
