Xiaomi Mix Flip touted to outdo Mix Fold 4 in terms of sales and popularity

The renowned leakerDigital Chat Stationclaims to have learned thatabout 200,000units of a "certain"clamshellfoldable are now in use in China, following shipments that have risen far above the expectations set for it.

Its fortunes to date are compared favorably to a "large" (orbook-style) folding counterpart from the same "factory", thereby suggesting that the former is the Mix Flip and the latter Xiaomi's fourth-genMix Fold(which is, apparently, a "dud" that might now not be renewed, whereas its newclamshellsibling might need anotherproductionrun to meet demand).

TheMix Flipis only Xiaomi's first foray into its market, yet manages to hit some of its best notes even compared to the much more familiar SamsungGalaxy Z Flip6, a 120Hz cover display, larger battery and dual 50MP rear cameras (that areLeica-brandedto boot) included.

Itscover displayis also the same size as that of the MotorolaRazr+ 2024, which would lead the field in this respect otherwise, and is driven by the more powerful Snapdragon8 Gen 3SoC. On the other hand, it supports a 120Hz refresh rate in both displays compared to165Hzin the new Razr+.

The Mix Flip also fails to integrate wireless charging, whereas its more established rivals support the feature. Nevertheless, it might be able to cut into the market share of both devices on its impendingreleaseto the rest of the world.
