Samsung Galaxy S25 series battery leak suggests no capacity improvements

Leaks about the Samsung Galaxy S25 series are rolling out at full fledge. The latest one, which comes from Ice Universe, has shed light on the battery capacities of all the upcoming flagship phones within the lineup. Per the leak, the new smartphones won't be seeing an upgrade in this regard.

More specifically, the reputed tipster claims that all the Galaxy S25 phones will have the same battery capacities as their predecessors. That means the capacity for the standard phone is rumored at 4,000 mAh, the Plus at 4,900 mAh, and the Ultraat 5,000 mAh.

Worth noting that the same battery capacities don't necessarily mean the same battery life. For example, the Galaxy S23 Ultra and the S24 Ultra have the same rated capacities (256 GB S24 Ultra curr. $1,074.99 on Amazon). However, the latter can last longer after a full charge, which is mainly for a more efficient SoC.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, which will be powering the Galaxy S25 series, is expected to be more efficient than the predecessor. So, even if the new smartphones have the same rated battery capacities, the battery lifeshould be better than the current-gen lineup.

What's rather interesting is that Ice Universe reports that Samsung has managed to pack batteries with the same capacities by reducing the overall thickness of 0.4 mm across the board. With this, the S25 Ultra is rumored to be 8.2 mm thick, which would make it thinner than the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
