Galaxy A16 5G: Leak reveals future release aimed at freshening up Samsung's cheapest Galaxy A series model

It seems that the launch of a new entry-level Galaxy A series smartphone could be in the offing. Although Samsung has not officially announced anything just yet, Android Headlines has already published render images of what it claims is a Galaxy A15 5G (curr. $149.70 on Amazon) successor. While Samsung's flagship smartphones are still expected to retain a boxy design, including the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the Galaxy A16 5G maintains its predecessor's 'Key Island' aesthetic.

In short, it appears that Samsung has almost brought across the Galaxy A15 5G's design in full. For example, the Galaxy A16 5G features a thick chin bezel, a triple rear-facing camera set-up arranged in individual lenses and a waterdrop notch within which sits a selfie camera. With that being said, the latter's design has changed somewhat, presumably to accommodate a thinner top bezel.

Similarly, it looks as though Samsung has slimmed down the side display bezels between generations, too. On top of that, the Galaxy A16 5G is rumoured to be available with a choice between MediaTek Dimensity 6300 and Samsung Exynos 1330 chipsets, compared to the Dimensity 6100+ with which theGalaxy A15 5Gis sold. Added to that, Samsung is expected to deliver the device later this year with a 5,000 mAh battery, 4 GB of RAM and a plastic housing for approximately €200 later this year. Unfortunately, it remains to be seen when though, which is also true of its 4G counterpart.
