At IFA 2024, Anker and its Soundcore brand will unveil the new premium Soundcore Space One Pro headphones, positioned above last year's Space One (US$99 on Amazon). The new Space One Pro over-ears are available in two colors for a recommended retail price of 199 euros. For the launch, the manufacturer is including a travel case worth 34.99 euros (approx. US$39) free of charge.

This means that the new Pro model costs twice as much as the RRP of the Space Pro. In return, Anker promises that the Soundcore Space Pro are the company's most advanced headphones to date in terms of sound, noise canceling, and premium feel.

Before we get to our impressions of the Space One Pro, let's start with a few facts. Anker uses 40 mm drivers made of polyether ether ketone (PEEK), and a polyurethane membrane as well as HearID 2.0 technology for sound tailored to your own hearing. The headphones work with Bluetooth 5.3 and support multipoint connections, meaning they can connect to two devices.

As befits flagship headphones, the new Space One Pro from Soundcore have active noise cancellation (ANC) with up to 45 dB on board. When this is switched on, the manufacturer promises a battery life of up to 40 hours; without it, the maximum is 60 hours. Fast charging via USB-C enables a further eight hours of battery life within five minutes.

Our impressions of the Anker Soundcore Space One Pro

We already had the opportunity to try out the new Soundcore Space One Pro in advance. The headphones are visually and haptically pleasing. They make a high-quality impression and feel good. It remains to be seen how long the artificial leather on the ear cups will remain so soft and flawless.

There are a total of five buttons on the two earcups for operation. They are preset to switch on, switch ANC mode, adjust the volume, and start or pause playback. There is also a USB-C port on the left for charging and a 3.5 mm jack connection.

We liked the sound of the Soundcore Space One Pro when we tried them out. It is certainly not at the absolute top level of other premium models, which usually cost a lot more. Subjectively, the sound reproduction is quite balanced with clear highs and solid bass. The sound can be adjusted to your own taste and hearing via the Soundcore app using the equalizer and preset modes. The app also offers many other customization options, including controls.

While the surroundings are fully perceived in transparency mode, the noise canceling mode "blocks" them out as far as possible. Monotonous noises in particular, such as a roaring robot vacuum cleaner or an extractor hood, can be easily blocked out. However, many other noises in busy environments are also suppressed to a certain extent or at least greatly reduced. Both modes can also be customized via the app.

The particularly compact folding feature is practical and allows the headphones to be transported much more compactly, for example in the enclosed sleeve or the optional travel case. To do this, the two earcups must be aligned in parallel before the left side is first twisted between the earpieces. This is followed by a 180-degree turn of the right earcup, which is then also turned inwards onto the other pad.

The headphones can then be packed away in the optionally available carrying case for 34.99 euros RRP in a stylish and rather unusual design.
