DJI has not confirmed any plans to introduce a new action camera yet. Instead, it seems that GoPro will get ahead of its rival this year, having teased that it will introduce two new action cameras on September 4. For context, these are expected to arrive as the Hero 13 Black, a direct successor to the Hero 12 Black (curr. $314.98 on Amazon), and a cheaper variant called the GoPro Hero.
By contrast, DJI is anticipated to use this week to showcase a 135 g drone simply called 'Neo'. However, recent leaks suggest that the Air 3S and Osmo Action 5 Pro are also on their way. To that end, @Quadro_News has now leaked a photo showing the latter being sold at an undisclosed retailer. Additionally, the same leaker recently shared more promotional images of the same device, which we have embedded below.
On the one hand, the former confirms the return of DJI's 'standard combo', which is often its cheapest action camera SKU. Please note that it seems as though the pricing contained below is for Australia, not the US. If that is the case, then AUD$489 would convert roughly to $329.
With that being said, we suspect DJI will continue to charge $299 for its standard combo pack, as it does with the Osmo Action 4. On the other hand, the design shown in the same image correlates with recent leaks, which all point to minimal hardware changes from last year's model. Reportedly, DJI will officially announce the Osmo Action 5 Pro on September 12 without a cheaper non-Pro variant in tow.
