DJI Air 3S: New drone could be launching sooner than expected as retail packaging leaks with unreleased DJI RC-N3 controller

It seems that DJI could be closer to releasing the Air 3S sooner than expected. Having had a rather quiet start to the year, it looks as though the company is about to deliver multiple drones and a successor to last year's Osmo Action 4 (curr. $269.99 on Amazon). So far however, DJI has only confirmed that the Neo drone is on its way.

While the Neo will arrive on September 5, the recent increase in Osmo Action 5 Pro-related leaks implies that DJI's upcoming GoPro rival will not be far behind. To that end, GoPro has now confirmed the release date of the Hero 13 Black, which may be joined by a cheaper version and a new 360-degree option. Additionally, Jasper Ellens has now obtained a photo of Air 3S retail packaging, a week after hands-on footage showcasing purported camera upgrades.

Embedded below, the image shows the Air 3S in its folded state, as is often the case with with DJI's retail packaging designs. Moreover, the packaging reveals that DJI will bundle the drone with the RC-N3, an unreleased controller that may debut alongside the Neo later this week. For reference, the image also confirms that the Air 3S and RC-N3 will be offered together as a 'Fly More Combo'. Added to that, the Air 3S' camera housing can be seen, which is rumoured to contain 24 mm primary and 70 mm telephoto cameras; please see our earlier article for more camera-related information.
